Q: does it come assembled?

submitted by Catherine - 4 years ago
  • A: I relied on this Q&A but it was incorrect. I ordered on the website and I got an email that said "It's ready to pick up." I visited the shop where is far from my home but it was not assembled.

submitted bymora - 4 years ago
  • A: I would appreciate it assembled upon pick up.

submitted bychuks - 2 years ago
  • A: Mine did not come assembled and they said it says assembly required on the page, but I can't find where it says that. Also, I asked if I brought it to them if they'd assemble it and they said "no". Don't order a bike unless you want to do all the work. I like Target, but they were anything but helpful in this situation.

Q: i just got this bike today, Target put it together for me and I picked it up at the store. When I ride it the front brakes make a constant clicking noise. Has this happened to anyone else? I also have a lot of trouble changing gears.

submitted by LilyBean - 2 years ago
  • A: You probably need to adjust front and rear derailleurs. You can get them adjusted at local bike shop or lookup some videos on YouTube.

submitted byChirag - 2 years ago
  • A: Sounds like it may need adjusted, the brake pads could be hitting the tire or the rim? If the gears are not shifting, again sounds like they need to be adjusted.

Q: Is this bike suitable for 5'11" height? It says the Frame is 20" but looking at the assembled dimensions, it does not sound like a 20" frame.

submitted by rk_512 - 3 years ago
  • A: Frame size and Tire Size (26") are two different things. According to Targets "Tire Size Chart," 26" tire size is suitable for a person 5'2" and taller. According to other websites mountain bike "Frame Size Chart," 20" frame size is suitable for a person measuring 5'10" - 6'1" in height Target should really have a frame size chart as well. Frame Size to Height charts do very between Mountain and Road bikes AND Men's and Women's bike.

The shift system is the worst shift system I’ve ever seen on a bike. I only used the bike for a month and when I came back to use it this year the bike doesn’t shift.

I got 2 of these bikes for my twins. Let me tell you they were the biggest piles of junk! I read reviews that the handle bars came loose well I thought if it happens we can tighten them. Well sure enough less then 24hrs they came loose tighten them and they won’t stay tight. Few days later my kid almost crashes as the breaks failed, gears fell apart. The other bike same issues seat came off petals came off. I contacted huffy their response was you can take it back to the store or order replacement parts

Handlebar constantly comes off no matter how hard I rescrew it. Seat always comes down after a few rides. Handbreak broke. Tires don't last long. All these things went wrong in a month or two. I would trust all the bad reviews with this bike.

Had the bike for 24 hours, assembled it and on the first ride the tension gear shifter on the rear tire ripped off… I am so mad because I know I did everything right since I did it how the manual specified I build and shift it.

It looks very nice and despite what others have reviewed mine seems to have been assembled correctly and so far it rides smooth, shifts well, and doesn't have any issues so I would recommend it if you can see it in store and there are no assembly issues also the brakes squeaked when I slammed them but only a little bit and it only happened once so I think that's normal

I purchased the bike with intention of riding it for some exercise and locally with gas prices rising. Unfortunately, the tire inner tubes were defective and the rear wheel was warped. I ultimately returned it as it had too many issues before even riding it. I’m surprised that Huffy put out such a poor product from the reviews.

Didn't make it out of the parking lot where I live before the handle bars came loose to where it wasn't ridable, dangerous even. The handle bars had no control and the brake trigger levers became inverted and not reachable. During the walk back to my apartment the bike would sieze up and stop because the wheels are not striaght either. I wish I had rode the bike around the store and saved a lot of time and frustrations.

This is definitely a cheap bike. You should watch some videos/read instructions and align breaks and derauler. Speed shifting is cheaply made, so this definitely not a fully functioning mountain bike. But it you are looking to take short rides and do not mind doing some upfront work this is fine.
