Description

The Outlier 26-inch Dual Suspension Mountain Bike by Huffy will get your adrenaline pumping as you ride. This bike has the specs you need to explore the outdoors. The 21-speed twist shifting system with a Shimano rear indexed derailleur consistently shifts for quick adjustments when venturing uphill or accelerating on level ground. This one-of-a-kind bike features a front disc brake and a rear alloy linear pull brake that helps you ride with confidence. These brakes provide reliable stopping action in various weather conditions. They're especially handy for climbs and descents, and for a more consistent response in muddy or rocky terrain. Dual suspension combines with a Shimano derailleur for the response you need. Wider tires increase momentum with less exertion, a characteristic you appreciate more, the further you ride. The front frame suspension is precision-crafted for a responsive ride, while the 3-piece steel crank remains durable for many years of use. The Outlier enlarged head-tube and alloy rims complement this stylish bike with added performance. The padded saddle is designed for comfort and style, plus the quick-release binder clip makes it easy to adjust as needed. The slight-rise handlebar encourages a more comfortable riding stance for increased confidence as you tackle trails. Get ready for exhilarating rides on this 26-inch mountain bike. Backed by a limited lifetime frame warranty. From Huffy. We make fun.

Q: what is the weight capacity?

submitted by Sherlock - 3 years ago
  • A: Huffy does not test or calculate the ultimate weight bearing property of its bicycles. The adult bicycles have been used extensively by riders in the weight range of 200 to 300 pounds. We do not have use information on riders over 300 pounds. Typically, it is the dimensions of the individual that makes a Huffy product uncomfortable or unusable, not the weight of the individual.

Q: Does anyone know if the handle bars can be raised?

submitted by SFLBEACHDUDE64 - 3 years ago
  • A: This model uses a threadless style Ahead stem, in the photo the stem is in the tallest position. If you want to go taller you may need to upgrade to taller bars or a stem with more rise to it.

Q: is this is for men or women

submitted by Satz - 4 years ago
  • A: Anyone can ride this model. Traditionally a ladies bike will have a sloping top tube on the frame, but on more performance oriented bicycles there isn't a men's or a women's frame.

I used the product for 3-4 time, its rear brake went on toss all of sudden . Its rear derailleur guard broken while changing the gear. It’s very poor quality and I am not happy with product. More over the fixing is big trouble . I don’t know how I will get service part or if return is possible as I hardly were able to use

Very powerful mountain bike. I love the fact that it has shocks on it when going over the hills and uneven roads.

Brand new off the rack from Target, this bike was not put together well. Various bolts were loose all over the bike (handle bars, reflectors, brakes), the front disc brake needed adjustment, the disc itself was warped and had to be bent straight, the front wheel spokes needed adjusted/tightened so the wheel would not rub on the brakes, the kick stand was too long and had to be replaced with a shorter kickstand, the rear brakes needed proper adjustment, the chain needed greased and the rear wheel needed centered. I have never purchased a brand new bike, especially one at this price, and have to make so many necessary adjustments before riding it. With all that being said, the bike does now ride well, shocks are great and everything works as it should. I have only had a few rides so far on mostly flat pavement so I can’t say much other than the bike is quite heavy (47lbs) so it is a little harder to get up to a good speed and stay at said speed. Will be interested to take it on a mountain trail sometime.

Not Bad

This bike is pretty nice. It's done me pretty well but it does have its flaws. Right off the bat I'm gonna tell you the worst thing that this bike has done. On my bike if you switch it to the 3rd gear for the pedals, it just won't work. Once I did it because I wanted to see if it would work and it broke the chain guard right off. Now if I use that gear, there's a chance that the chain will slip off and I will completely destroy my gearing system. I also can't find any parts for it because it doesn't even show up on the Huffey website. The bike does go pretty fast though, so I don't really have a need for that gear. Everything else on the bike is pretty good though. The seat is a little uncomfortable so you may want to add a cushion or something to it, but I got used to the seat. The suspension on the bike is really good and it's a smooth ride when you're riding it. The brakes are also pretty good but the rear one is a bit loose. Overall I'd say the bike is pretty good but that chain guard breaking off because I switched the bike into a certain gear really isn't good. Hopefully I can manage to get a replacement part for it.

Don't buy!!!

Since I got the bike, it would not switch to all gears. It would go up till 5 and then no longer function. I was fine with this, however, because I was only going to be riding it around my neighborhood. But, I soon found out that the seat for the bike wouldn't stay in place and could move around freely. This first happened while I was on my way home from my friend's house when the seat moved and I fell onto the bike frame and crashed. Luckily I was wearing a helmet and wasn't going that fast so I wasn't too injured. But if I was going down a hill or something and this happened I might've broken a bone! The worst part is that I've had this bike for a grand total of 2 DAYS!!! I'm not sure if this is Target's fault or Huffy's, but this was a major letdown for me. I fell in love with the bike the moment I got it and it sucks that the bike wouldn't even last 2 days. I'm honestly more disappointed than mad :(

Had a few problems trying to make the handlebars move the front wheel but with some help we got it to work! Seat is a little uncomfortable but it doesn’t bother me much. Very good bike especially for someone who is around 5” :)

DO NOT BUY

1 out of 5 stars
Tanya - 3 years ago
This is by far the worst bike I have ever ridden. If you are looking for a good quality bike - turn away. First off, the handles do not stay in place. If you turn right, the handles align with the wheel and get stuck there, to the point where you have to stop riding, hold the wheel down, and then realign the handles. In a 3.5 mile bike ride, I had to do this about 10 times. The rotation of the handles was so severe that I actually fell off the bike twice. I think the last time I fell off a bike is when I first learned how to ride it. Also, the seat is tiny and so uncomfortable. It seems fine at first, but after 10 miles of use, it becomes incredibly painful. The only good thing about this bike is the way it looks. But that means nothing when it can’t do its job. Don’t make the same mistake I did and leave this bike on the rack.

Tanya, we are very sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your purchase and we greatly appreciate your feedback. The issue you described with the handlebars is not one we frequently see. It is likely that they just need to be adjusted. Please give us a call at 800 872 2453 at your earliest convenience so that we can assist with this. Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience. - Huffy
