This excellent beginner's bike feels like freedom for young kids getting that first taste of mobility. The coaster pedal brake has an intuitive feel that will keep kids on the right track, allowing them to easily stop and steer clear of danger. And with an adjustable seat and removable training wheels, this bike is perfect for beginning riders who are just getting their bearings and who are constantly growing. Designed for young riders, this bike has a durable, gloss charcoal steel frame with blue accents is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
My 5 yo son absolutely loves this huffy, first real bike. It was easy to carry the box to the car and for my husband he had an easy time putting it together. The bike was mostly assembled with the exception of the handle bars, pedals, seat and training wheels. He has to connect the wire for the breaks which took the most time but still easy to put together. Quality of bike is great and the ride for my son is nice and smooth.
We bought this online and it was delivered in a box. I'm not mechanically inclined, did my best to follow the instructions provided, but found the brakes very difficult to set up. We ended up taking it to a bike shop to have them do it the right way. I'd recommend buying this bike in the store already assembled. Also, our 5 year old son has had the bike for two months, the seat already has tears in it. To be sure, he could be more careful. However, the bike does not have a kick stand. He sets it down, the seat hits the ground the seat and has a thin plastic covering and tears easy. So, if you're buying it to use without training wheels, like we were, I wouldn't recommend this bike either. We wish we would have gotten a bike with a kickstand. I also see the price has gone up since we bought it - it was 79.99 in Dec 2019 and now it is 99.99. Hard to see paying $100 for this bike.
The bike is great but the training wheels do not support the bike. They bent immediately and we keep having to straighten them. My 4yo son still ends up riding lopsided after a few minutes, we will be purchasing new training wheels soon.
The bike itself seems ok and fits my 5 year old well but the training wheels are wonky. My husband has had to repeatedly remove them and bend them back into shape. It makes riding the bike very frustrating for a kid who is just learning. Maybe we made a mistake in assembly because this seems like a major flaw.
