A: Hi gerryandcathy - thanks for the question regarding the Igloo MaxCold Refreezeable Ice Blocks! These ice blocks will stay frozen for a few hours. The amount of time they stay frozen is really dependent on the temperature of the contents your are putting inside of the cooler. A: Hi cb33 - thanks for your question regarding the Igloo Refreezable Ice Blocks. We typically say it's best to freeze the blocks overnight. If you have a commercial freezer, it would only take a couple of hours to have the ice block frozen solid. But if you're using a traditional freezer, it may take a little longer. It also depends on the size of the block you're using - large, medium or small. Again, best best - freeze overnight. Hope that helps to answer your question! :)

Bought so I could freeze + use them to transport lobsters on a 6 hour plane ride in a cooler bag. Stayed frozen, and were bigger than expected (in a good way), however, I laid them all horizontally in my freezer and one of them had a weird bulge / protrusion. The size of this ice pack is great and it keeps everything cold in my lunchbag all day. However, it is poor quality. This ice pack split while in the freezer after only a month of use. I'm really disappointed as I have a smaller pack from igloo that I've had for years and it's still in good shape. Will think twice before purchasing again. I gave this two stars because it keeps things cold all day.

After only a week or so it started to bulge. Now both sides have bulges. As long as it doesn’t burst I guess it’s ok but it fits perfectly in lunch bag with a lunch container so anymore bulging it won’t fit. Limited options so it has to do.

Fits in the pocket of the PlanetBox Rover lunch box and stays cold all day. I pack lunches at 6:30am and the ice block is still mostly frozen, definitely still cold, when they get home at 3pm. Far superior to the ice pack that came with the lunchbox.
