Q: Does this work with the older model as far as adding cameras? Can I still use my old camera and add this in addition?

A: No, you can’t pair the older model with this one. Even the cameras. You have to have the newer versions.

A: It can pair up to four camera units. It doesn't have a split screen option, but you can scan between camera units or toggle to stay on one.

This camera was bought Feb 2023 for my baby shower. Fast forward to Feb 2025 and we started having issues with the camera moving up and down as well as the monitor not holding a chage. Emma from Infant Optics was quick to respond when I sent out an email. She helped me troubleshoot the monitor and now it is holding a charge just fine! However the camera was still not working properly. Even though I was out of the warranty period, Emma agreed to send me a new camera. It came in the mail very quickly and works great. I thought for sure that I would have to buy a new camera but I was so pleasantly surprised to have such wonderful customer service- especially prompt responsiveness. The camera works wonderfully and we love it so much- I really didn't want to have to buy another brand so I was super happy that Infant Optics graciously sent us a new one!!!

We love our infant optics camera and monitor but recently started having an issue with the monitor which persisted despite replacing the battery. I contacted customer service and had a wonderful experience with their representative (Emma C). The representative was incredibly helpful and patient, taking the time to troubleshoot the issue before determining that a replacement of the monitor was needed. Once that was decided, they quickly processed the replacement and ensured it was sent out in a very timely manner. The entire process was seamless, efficient, and stress-free. I truly appreciate the excellent service and support—thank you!

Constant reliability issues * battery stopped working 4 months after use, had to do a reset to get it * battery life was about 1/3 of what was advertised 6 months into use * monitor stopped working 2 years in Infant optics does not stand by its product. It has a 1 year warranty and customer support will just offer a discounted price after that. Their product has reliability issues around battery and charging which is why they offer such a short warranty. Baby monitors should last longer than a year

Just bought this as an upgrade from the original monitor and as soon as I took the screen out of the box, I noticed it was very obviously used. Everything else in the box looks new except the screen which was dirty, scratched up, and the lettering was off in places. The sticker on the back is very clearly old and used. So disappointing for something that’s over $200. Will be reporting further and returning.

The battery on this monitor is horrible. I reached out to infant optics and they sent me a new one for free since it was under warranty and it didn’t make a difference. You have to keep the monitor on the charger 90% of the time.

We love this product! We have 2 cameras for both our children’s rooms and cannot be happier. We knew we didn’t want a WiFi camera and after a lot of research settled on this and are SK HAPPY we did. Highly recommend!! Also the customer service gets 5 stars itself!!!! We had an issue with our monitor where the button jammed and after that it went haywire, working sometimes, not working other times and then just not working at all. We reached out to see if customer service could help even though we had gotten it over 2 years ago as a registry gift and they were able to get us a replacement and shipped it to us the next day!! As a parent you know how important this little monitor really is so we appreciated that they were able to get us a replacement in general and that they got it to us so quickly!! I would recommend this product based on customer service alone, but I love the product itself also!!

Camera quality/picture quality is good for a baby monitor. The ANR feature is extremely nice since our baby listens to a lullaby machine while she sleeps. Monitor zooms in and out, so figure you can have it a decent ways away if need be. The camera also swivels from the handheld device. Great option, definitely would recommend.

We are thrilled with our Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro Monitor. It is the perfect fit for those who desire a WiFi-less device with reliable technology and high quality. Both the camera and monitor are easy to set up and use immediately, and the portable monitor is easy for the grandparents to use when babysitting. My only wish is that the battery on the portable monitor lasted a bit longer without a full charge. When we had an issue with our monitor, the Infant Optics customer support team quickly provided help and offered a fabulous solution. Their responsiveness, problem solving, and guidance was bar none - I am especially grateful to Zeil for his help!

Monitor stopped working. Ive only had this monitor for 2 years. And it’s no longer under warranty. I tried replacing the battery, but that didn’t help as it still dies when I unplug it. Won’t hold a charge at all even with a new battery?Super bummed since I have two cameras and the monitor so 300$ plus tax invested in this, down the drain. Customer service told me it’s outside the warranty. Wish I could say it’s a quality product but it is not worth the money.

After 2 years the monitor stopped working. Only sound would work. The warranty expired after a year but I reached out to the company and they offered a free replacement! Would highly recommend. Great customer service as well as product.

Absolutely love this system. Camera is very clear in the night time and very bright colors in the day time. Sound is very clear as well. Worth every penny. I dropped the monitor and the arm broke and I reached out to customer support and they mailed me a new monitor and let me keep the damaged one until the new one arrived. I had to mail it back as soon as I received the new one. Great customer service and great product. You should definitely add this to your registry.

The battery of the monitor does not last through the night! I love that it doesn’t need WiFi to connect since I don’t want possible hackers viewing my baby and house. However, the monitor’s battery sucks! I always put the settings with the least brightness to preserve battery and only turn on the video when I hear my baby cry… but I can’t even see my baby in the early morning since it’s already dead! Everything else is great. Love the zoom in features, clear pictures, no lag, super easy to use. It really is just the monitor’s battery that’s the problem.
