Q: Does this work with the older model as far as adding cameras? Can I still use my old camera and add this in addition?

  • A: Unfortunately not. The DXR-8 PRO is using a different platform and can't work with the DXR-8 addon camera.

  • A: Infant Optics baby monitors come with 110v-240v compatible adapters and will work in any country without voltage converters. However, The plug is a US standard plug and you may need to purchase a separate plug compatible to the wall socket of the country you will be using the baby monitor in.

I love this monitor, BUT the charger works when it wants. Unlike the hat some people have said, it DOES hold battery life well. BUT, unless the cord is facing a certain way, it won’t charge. Which is odd because it’s a circle charger. It should need to be a certain direction. My Sister in law has one, and hers wouldn’t work unless the cord was plugged into it, actually charging or not. Overall I love the camera and handheld, but this charger issue needs to be fixed

Minitor has been great,overall no complaints at all. It stopped holding its charge after 9 months and called the service department and they quickly sent me a replacement through warranty. The new one works perfect. Will buy another camera and sync them with the next kid.

Overall, have been happy with the infant monitor. However, the on/off button stopped working after only a few months of use. The button would "stick" really bad and despite our troubleshooting efforts, we were unable to fix it. I contacted customer service and they were able to kindly accommodate us (although the warranty was technically expired by a few weeks) and grant us a new monitor in exchange for the old one.

I had zero issues with this monitor and loved it until we moved. My daughter is on one side of the house and our room is on the other but was still less than the 1000ft it says it will reach. I could not ever get the monitor to pick up. I contacted the company that made the monitor because I had already had it over a year so I couldn’t contact target. They had me do some trouble shooting. None of it worked. So they sent me a brand new monitor and camera and it fixed the problem. All they asked was that I return the other. Wonderful customer service! And excellent system!

The monitor resolution is great but the camera picks up a loud annoying static sound. This requires me to look at the camera nonstop to ensure the baby is not crying since the static sound happens every 30 seconds or so.

We have been very happy with this product. Our monitor unit started acting up at about 14 months of use. After contacting customer service, they offered to replace the monitor unit even though it was technically out of warranty. We just had to pay return shipping on the bad unit.

I received this baby monitor off my registry in Oct. 2021, right before my son was born in Dec. 2021. It worked great and was very simple to use. Flash forward to Fall 2022 after ~9-10 months of use, the volume started turning down on it's own and I could not hear my son. I contacted customer service, and unfortunately because it was purchased over a year ago, it was not under warranty. When I explained to Infant Optics customer service that I have not even been using it for a year yet (was purchased months before actual use due to baby shower), they kindly sent me a new monitor screen free of charge. However, the battery life has not been the same. And now a year later, the same volume issue is happening again. With baby #2 on the way, I cannot justify staying loyal to this brand and investing in a replacement + additional camera....that would be nearly a $300 investment for something that has proven to me 2x that it will not last me the year. TLDR: issues within the first year, and <1 year of using replacement after that, more issues.

Got this monitor in March, ran into an issue where the monitor died and would no longer turn on. Contacted Infant Optics about the warranty and they were quick to answer, troubleshoot, and then offer a replacement. (Keep your receipt!) Aside from that issue, we love this monitor. It gives us peace if mind to know how our little one is sleeping (or not) and the temperature of the room.

I purchased this monitor last June and began using it in January when my baby moved into his own room. It worked great for about 8 months and then the battery stopped holding a charge. I purchased a replacement battery and continued to see the same issue. I reached out to customer support and did some troubleshooting but still couldn't get it working. In the end, they sent me a replacement monitor even though I was 2 months outside of my warranty. They even sent it before I returned the defective one so I wouldn't have to go without a monitor. So even though the monitor stopped charging fully after 8 months of use, I'm still leaving 5 stars because of how awesome my customer support experience was and how quickly they resolved my issue.
