GET AN EXTENDED WARRANTY
Do not buy this pump unless you get an extended warranty. I am less than a month outside the warranty period and they will not help me at all and the part that needs to be replaced is unable to be bought separately so now I have to buy a whole new pump.

Too small for 19 foot pool
SX 1500 came with 18X9X54. 2 years in a row the pump cannot keep pool clean. Dead algae particles are too much for this pumps capacity. Will try a bigger filter pump but this unit is too small for this size pool.

Excellent Pump Upgrade
Purchased this upgraded sand filter pump for our new Intex 14'x42" pool. Now the skimmer works and the solar fountain works! The water circulation is about double what we had with the pump that came included with the pool. The timer function works great as well.

This pump lasted 1 year and stopped working. Tried finding the pump and basically it seems I have to be forced to purchase the sand filter and chlorinater together. I somehow feel this is a setup.

Sand filter over the cartridge filter
Just purchased this 1500gph unit a few weeks ago. So far, We are very happy the way it has been running and cleaning our 14' X 42" 3600 gallon intex pool. We have noticed the clarity is better. Puts out much more filtered water over the 1000 gph cartridge filter that drops down once the cartridge starts gets clogged, that came with the pool. Much easier to clean the sand filter and a whole lot less mess that always happened with the cartridge filter that came with the pool. We opted for the model without the skimmer because we don't have trees around. Happy with this purchase.

Pump and Tank issues.
Purchased two years ago and used for two seasons. At the start of this season the pump stopped working. So I purchased a new one. When the pump runs it works well. The new pump set arrived but the tank is misshapen so does not make a tight seal. Needed to use the old tank to get the system working. Attempted to send a comment to the company but the online form kept crashing so I am now just posting a slightly negative review.

Extremely poor-quality unit that fails to last.
2 seasons is all I got out of the unit before it needed a bunch of replacement parts and said replacement parts end up costing more than replacing the entire thing. Problems I have encountered so far this season: Error code 92, high salt, even with zero salt in the water. Pump timer no longer advances, so even setting pump to 1 hour means it will stay on forever until I turn it off. At least the filter housing hasn't cracked, yet. I'm sure that would be the next thing to happen if the unit wasn't going into the trash. At least when I purchased it the price was proper and sub 150 dollars, it's worth about 50 max.

Time for a new sand filter
After 8 years of use it was time for a new pump and sand filter. Intex makes great products and I’m absolutely happy with all my purchases. Just installed it and it’s working perfectly

Pump works well but beware the attachments
Assembly was easy. Operation is straightforward. Does a good job keeping pool clean. Con #1 -- if you are using this with anything but an intex brand pool you'll likely have to make a trip to the pool store. The fittings to hook to the pool are apparently made for intex pools only. Con #2-- Requires being backwashed more than I thought it would but maybe it's just because it's still fairly new. Overall satisfied with product
