I have a 2011 Toyota Camry and the CD slot is great to use. No problem, the extra insert made the clip perfectly snug. I have an iPhone 6 with the Apple leather case. I bought this for my 2015 Ford Escape .. it is up high when mounted because of the location of the CD player (that I never ever use) but it works well. This is absolutely what I needed because I have Bmw convertible and there is basically no other place that I can put my phone more effectively. The reason why I chose the iOttie is because it doesn't have a handle sticking out blocking the screen, the handle tucks in and it works GREAT, it's tight on the cd slot so it doesn't vibrate or move. I recomend it.
