A:Â Hello Tern, The Vacuum will avoid animal feces and will have obstacle image review which will let you choose what to avoid and what not to, but it does not have a feature to automatically detect wet spots on the ground.

I bought it because it should avoid obstacles, like poo. It didn't. It keep getting an error 26 and it's clean. I even changed the filter. Now my case is under review for replacement.

I love the IRobot. Cleans my floors clean. However, I got new area rugs he doesn't like thick pile carpet. He won't go oh, he trys but just can't seem to do the job. So I use him in my kitchen mostly. Not worried that he can't as even my regular vacuum don't like the pile.

We have a large hairy dog that sheds. Our j7+ regularly clogs with hair around the rollers and the front wheel. Has to be cleaned at least weekly. If you don't have pets or if they are not big shedders it would be wonderful

THINGS WERE GREAT UNTIL THE BATTERY STARTED NOT WANTING TO CHARGE, NOW I HAVE TO REPOSITION IT TO CHARGE AND SOMETIMES THE BATTERY DIES BEFORE IT MAKES IT BACK TO THE CHARGING DOCK, SO I HAVE TO PICK IT UP AND PUT IT TO THE CHATGER.

We have two i robots one with a brush on it and the one we just purchased and it has two rubber sweepers. The new one misses so much items on floor and doesn't do as good as the older model keep in mind we use both and new one is ok but not up to iRobot standards.

I feel like every other time I run it, it runs into issues of getting stuck or the battery running out or the dustbin claiming it's full despite having the autoempty charge station and having cleaned the sensors. Despite my settings in the app telling it not to bump into things, it constantly does that and it scratches up baseboards. Currently, it's having trouble charging (it won't turn on and is not functional) despite replacing the battery, so I'm waiting for the box to arrive from the company to send it back to have it fixed. I bought it six months ago…… It will take a month for the repair process from start to finish. My house layout is not that complicated. I bought this to alleviate some time from chores and at this point it feels like I'm babysitting it and praying that it makes it around my house without a problem. Would have less trouble if I just bought a Dyson and vacuumed myself.

I don't want to be without a Roomba again. It allows me to freedom to work on other household chores. I use my Roomba ever day of the week. It vacuum's the rooms that are used everyday twice a week. Most the time it's an hour or so to do the rooms that are scheduled. I like have extra time to do other things.

I purchased the product in May 2022, and it worked as per expectations for the first year. There were minor problems - the iOS app could use improvements, the smart maps would mess up the room boundaries, and one time, the j7 ended up butchering my headphone wires. This month, the unit stopped cleaning altogether. It shows me Error 2, which led me to clean and then replace all the brushes, and after too many back and forths with the customer care representative (and repeating the steps I already did), he recommended that the multi-surface rubber brushes be replaced. And since I was 3 months beyond the warranty period, I would have to purchase the replacement parts at my own cost. For an expensive robot vacuum (which iRobot touts as "premium"), it is not okay to stop working after 15 months. The customer care is horrible, too, and the responses come after more than 24 hours of waiting. The least iRobit could have done is to replace the faulty part (which may still not fix the issue). I will never purchase any iRobot product again and would advise people to stay away!

What works great (as expected): -Room mapping -Program options What works great and was a surprise: -Black rugs not a problem - Feedback and history for each cleaning - Obstacle identification (temp or perm) - Easily define 'do not clean' areas - Without self cleaning, J7 returns home and signals bin full - Quality of cleaning coverage (no missed gaps) - Does not get stuck in smaller gaps (recliners, etc.) - Uses same parts as my E5 (rollers, sweep brush, filters) What it needs that I didn't expect (but understandable): - cannot clean a completely dark room (needs room light on OR daylight thru window)
