From stalking lions, charging rhinos, snapping crocodiles, and other dangerous creatures-in the wild world of Jumanji, you are always just a dice roll away!
Based on the original Jumanji, get ready to have a wild time and go about a crazy adventure. Start the game by simply grabbing a pawn, roll the eight-sided number die and move through the jungle.
When playing Jumanji, pay special attention to the danger card! Be careful when you draw a danger card, if you do proceed to using your decoder to discover a secret hidden message to find out if disaster strikes.
Your fellow players must race against time to rescue you as the Jungle threatens and begins to fill up the Doomsday Grid. When you play Jumanji and if the grid fills up, the jungle will eventually overpower you and the other characters! If you are the first to reach the center before the Doomsday Grid fills up, yell Jumanji! And win the game!
Fun new game for the family. After reading the reviews, I was nervous about ordering this game. My kiddo had some cold hard cash burning a hole in her pocket, so we took the plunge. We have played 3 times now. Each game took 10-15 min to play. Ages of the children playing were 7, 9 and 10. Each player rolls the dice on their turn, then moves his/her pawn around the winding path. Depending on the outcome of the challenge, your pawn can move forward or backwards. First player to the center of the board wins.
This game comes with 4 eight sided dice that you have to place stickers on. Make sure your hands are dry when playing or the stickers come off. In the middle of the board there is a red plastic decoder that allows you to read the secret message on the cards, and the first players to get to the red decoder wins, but the space right before the center is really small, too small for your piece to fit on. The hourglass timer is small and does not give you a lot of time, so I would recommend either a different timer or use a total number of rolls to get what item you need to roll. I was hoping that the players pieces were animals like in the movie, but they are just generic pieces. You can also modify the rules as needed to allow younger children to play.
I was super excited to buy this at Christmas time, it was the last one left. We just played it tonight and was super disappointed. When I opened the box half the stickers were on the die and you apply the rest, that kept falling off with every other roll. Then we kept getting confused with the directions and we ended up giving up due to boredom. I played this with my 7 and 8 year old and it’s rated for 5 and up. This day and age I thought it would have been an awesome game but it flat out sucked. Don’t waste your money.
I don't normally leave reviews, but I HAD to for this. As previously stated.... took 45 minutes to place 32 stickers on these little dice to make sure they were straight. Then, the rule page is so long that by the time I got to the end of it, I had to start from the beginning to re-read what I had already read to try to remember what it said. No animal pieces like the movie, cheap plastic card encoder in the middle. My kids were so excited to get this game (Aged 13 and 8), but we were all very quickly disappointed. Also, very boring. Thankfully I got it when it was on sale for half price. I would have been livid knowing I paid full price for this junk of a game. Already not happy I paid $10.00 for it. The concept of the game is nice and my wish is that someone can come up with a version that will take on more of the movie characteristics. This game was a waste of time and money. Played it one time and will try to sell it or trash it...YES!! It is THAT AWFUL!!!! I do not recommend buying this game.
Fun game but you do need time to read through the rules first. Although not complicated, there are a lot of different aspects to the game. My boys loved it but it can be like monopoly in that it can can a LONG time to finish the game.
