Elegance and romance are the cornerstones of the Kensington Bed. This piece features an inviting brushed antique bronze finish that is a lovely highlight to the linen inset headboard. Finial-topped posts and a notched curved headboard bring classic detailing. Mattress, pillows, linens, etc. are not included. Box spring required for use. The rails that come with this bed are a true black color rather than the bronzed brown color of the headboard and footboard. While the color is slightly darker, most sheets and bed spreads will cover this part.
We love how this turned out. It arrived in two boxes and was easy to assemble the king size. The only thing that we are not thrilled about it that the platform is slightly bigger than our mattress so occasionally one of us will hit our leg on the sides getting into bed. Also, the knobs just push in and don’t screw so itis east for kids to take them out. It is a solid built frame and looks great in person. A dark espresso color metal frame with the ivory canvas feeling headboard.
Keeping in mind that this is a <$400 bed... Yes I would definitely recommend. I’m not super handy, but I put together the bed almost entirely alone. Wasn’t much different than a piece of ikea furniture. The tools that come with it weren’t great (I switched to using my own). I also put a little WD 40 on the connections to help it not squeak. The fabric is a linen-like beige, not 100% sure, but it looks like you could reupholster it easily. I had problems getting the finials on, but eventually made it work. Definitely worth more than we paid!
I have been wanting this bed for a couple of years now and recently ordered it for a great price! It arrived quickly and assembly was simple, but it did take about 30-45 minutes with two people. However, the only issue is the bed frame is larger than our standard King size mattress and box spring, so on all sides there is a few inches of a gap. You can’t see it with our bed skirt but the bed will scoot out of place sometimes. But I do absolutely love the way that it looks and for the price, I am VERY happy with it. Also, just to note: the metal is brown but painted to have a subtle wood grain look to it.
The bed came in 2 boxes in just 2 days after ordering online. It took about 45 minutes to assemble, and it is surprisingly sturdy for as thin as the bars are... it will take as long to disassemble if / when needed. Some of the bolts striped with the allen wrench provided, but maybe I overtightened.
Wasn't that hard to assemble and yes there is a gap between the rails and mattress on king size but that can be changed with a simple bed skirt. The rails are black and not bronze colour so that stinks but again, a bed skirt can fix that. From the pics the linen headboard looks white but it is in fact more linens colour than a white. See pic. Overall, love the look for my fancy farmhouse style house and not bad quality for the price. Would recommend to anyone !
My husband complained about the assembly & that it was cheaply made, but once he got it together you couldn't ask for a more sturdy piece. It's a unique combination of a metal & upholstery that has a really nice clean look. I LOVE it!
