The Kent NORTHSTAR 26 Men's Bike is built tough and features high tensile steel frame and front suspension fork for enhanced control and a smoother ride. The NORTHSTAR 26 features 21 speed gearing with easy to operate twist grip shifting as well as an alloy quick release seat clamp for simple seat adjustment. This Men's mountain bike is built to ensure safety, comfort and durability. Linear pull brakes both front and rear offer great control and stopping power.

A: If purchased in store it can be assembled. If purchased online it comes 85% assembled. The front wheel, handlebar, seat and pedals have to be installed. Brakes and gears will need to be adjusted.

I ordered three Kent bikes and had nothing but problems. The red bike, upon assembly had a bent front wheel so I had to return it. The replacement bike had a weird clicking noise, that one was also returned. The gray bike was only ridden twice. The second time, the entire plastic piece covering the chain mechanism shattered when I switched gears. One of the brake wires got tangled in the chain and the bike was no longer rideable. How does this even happen?? Very disappointed that THREE Kent bikes I ordered were not usable.

After completely assembling the bike, I began to adjust the front brake and noticed the front wheel was badly out-of-round. Not wanting to return the bike, wait for a replacement, and then assembling another bike, I replaced the front wheel with an old rim I had. Also, the insulation around the rear brake cable is already rotted - right out of the box. Not very satisfied overall.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this mountain bike, but after my first ride, I'm a lot more confident in it. You can always upgrade certain parts if deemed necessary, but I think it works well for its purpose!
