The KidKraft Shabbat Set is perfect for families to teach and learn about important sacred traditions celebrated each week. With this detailed toy set, Shabbat Dinner will be more fun and educational for all your bubalas. Sliced wooden challah with hook and loop attachments and a wooden knife, candlesticks and a cover with "Shabbat" in Hebrew adds educational flair to this traditional toy from KidKraft.
When I started by baby registery, one thing that went right on the registry was Kid Kraft's Shabbat Set. As observant Jews, we wanted to make sure we pass along our traditions to our children and giving them the opportunity to observe how we observe and perform rituals as we perform them is the best way. This set only comes out on Shabbat (Friday night to Saturday night) and then it's put away for the week and conversely, we put away any toys that make noise or are electronic on Shabbat. David always looks forward to his 'bat toys and it makes it extra special. He has learned the beginnings of the brachot (blessings) and mimics how we do them. This set is all wooden (with the exception of the wine bottle which is plastic) and include two candlesticks, two candles, a wine cup, a wine bottle, a challah board and knife, two mini challot (braided bread) that are velcroed together so you can "cut" them, a challah cover, siddur (prayer book), and bag to contain it all! I highly recommend this set but #momhack - I used a sharpie to letter and number the challah pieces so I could put them back together correctly and easily! (One loaf is A B C D E F and the other is 1 2 3 4 5 6) This review originally appeared here - https://parental.guidanceguide.com/dress-up-pretend-play/reviews/shabbat-toy-set-b705d57d2309
My son almost three years old loves the set. He loves cutting the challa , saying the blessings and sing Shabbat sons with the set . It so cute. It's made of mostly wood so for sure it will stay long .. they updated the color so you not get what the picture show which wasn't a problem for us. We had some missing pieces but the company sent the parts over night shipping. So it come with a great service.
I bought this gift for my niece for her birthday & she loved it! She cut the challah bread & served everyone. She did the shabbat blessings and wished everyone a shabbat shalom ( a good sabbath )! This is perfect gift for your little Jewish princess and they get to practice the traditions. Everyone thought that this was such a great gift!
