Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the flexes naturally. keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

I was surprised at how soft these were, and I liked the lighter weight fabric. They are great pajamas for cooler weather that don't overheat my kids. Most importantly, they stay on! I have slender kids, and the pants on most other pajamas have a tendency to slip down. For that reason, I might not recommend for kids on the huskier side.

Cat & Jack used to make a Snuggly Soft Snug Fit pajama that I bought in every single pattern and both my kids loved them. These are NOT it. These “soft brushed” pajamas are not soft, don’t fit well, no stretch and most importantly my kids refuse to wear them. Bring back the Snuggly Soft pajamas!!

I have purchased these pajamas for my son over the last few years and was so excited when I saw these were available for drive up at my local store. I was beyond disappointed when I saw these. They are threadbare compared to previous years and no where near as soft. These feel like a really crappy knock off version of what target use to sell. I feel like the quality of so many target brand items has decreased a ridiculous amount in the past year.

They are a nightmare to get on if a child is coming out of the shower. If their skin is even just slightly damp like after drying off, they are impossible to get on. They run too tight as well. I wish they’d bring back the regular cotton pajamas that are a similar style but a little looser and more like regular cotton.

They used to be good quality and correct sizing, but these new ones are made with a thinner, cheaper fabric and they just don’t fit right. Way too tight in the arms and then when I went up an extra size (or two) they became too big at the waist. Such a shame. These used to be great, but now I’ll be returning sets for three kids.
