The skirt has an elastic waist which is great for adjusting to all kids of different sizes. The skirt is make of black tulle material. You can see on the picture around her waist, the elastic is very much too big. She would not be able to wear this without it falling down on her. It is nice that there is 2 layers of the tulle fabric, and a layer of black satin lining on the bottom. This helps to make it more opaque and not as itchy on the skin. My daughter loves this style because it’s comfortable on her waist and still a nice length. She’s 5 and it’s fits perfect. The elastic waist is a pretty cheap material, but for the price this is a great option. Though this tutu is advertised as a costume, I can definitely see it being worn on the daily with a cute top and tights on those chilly fall days. It would also make a great costume piece and would work for so many different costume creations. We really liked how easily this slipped on and how it is adjustable to fit a variety of different waist sizes my daughter pictured here is 11 years old and typically wears a size 10 or 12 in girls. This fit her perfectly with plenty of room to grow. You could also easily see that it would fit a smaller size as well. The length is perfect as it comes down to her knees and she could easily wear leggings underneath of it. They are a one size fits all in kids. My girls are almost 5 and they fit them good, there is still a little room to grow but not so much that they would fall off. It is shiny and a little sparkly on the top skirt layers and there is an opaque bottom skirt layer. It is not see through so leggings or shorts aren't necessary if you live in a warmer climate. It is good quality and will last. My daughter is 4'8" tall and around 75 lbs. She wears a child's size 12 and it fits nicely. If your child is larger than a size 14 or taller than 5' I would probably not buy this as I don't think it would fit. I received an incentive to write this review.

It’s light weight and super soft with elastic waist so it can fit little and big kids. It’s very comfortable. Great quality, low price. My granddaughter is almost 11 years old. It fits her perfectly.
