Q: Is there any way to set 2 different wake up light times? Want to set a time for schooldays and a different time for the weekend. Also I don't need the nightlight feature so can it be shut off or is it light sensitive and turns on automatically?

A: This light will not do that. The Hatch Rest light is more expensive but will do exactly as you describe and more (sound machine, other color/brightness options). We have three and they work great. Amazingly good customer service too.
submitted bycraftymama - 3 years agoA: You cannot set two different wakeup times. You need to adjust it on the weekends manually. The nightlight does not turn on automatically. It will not turn on unless you tap the top of the Bear to turn it on. If you do want to use the nightlight you can also choose a sleep timer so it will turn off after automatically.

Q: I only need this to light up when it’s time to wake. Does the nightlight stay off through out the night?

A: Hi Gaby. The Sleepy Bear Clock has a white nightlight that you can turn on anytime and it will stay on or you can set the sleep timer so that it will turn automatically turn off. The green wake-up light turns on only at the time you set it to. It's similar to setting an alarm, but instead of making a sound, the green light turns on. Q: How long does the clock stay green in the morning? If I set it for 7am when will it stop being green?

A: To set the time press and hold the time set button on the back till the display starts to flash and then release the button. Q: can this work with out the sound? just the wake up light

A: The wake-up light does not make any sound. There’s a separate alarm that you can set like a traditional alarm clock with a sound, but the wake-up light simply turns on with out any sound! We’re parents too and for sure don’t want anything waking the kids up early! Thanks for your interest in our Sleepy Bear. (Our Dream Cloud also works the same way too!)

A: The nightlight is white and the green light turns on when you set a time to indicate that it's ok to get out of bed.

Q: any tips on getting this to actually work? it's plugged in and says a time, and when I press and hold the time set button, the lights flash, but neither the hr or min buttons change anything--

Super cute light. Easy to set up. My daughter loves it, calls it her panda light. There are three brightness levels for the white light. There are different timer settings too (on, 15 min, 30 min). Can set a wake up alarm that beeps (found this sound to be super annoying) or it turns into a green light. Not battery operated and must be plugged into a wall. Must be on a hard surface because it turns off/on but pressing the head but there are actually two small buttons on the bottom so when you press the force pushes those buttons which really turn it on and off. For the price it’s great!

I got this for my 6-year-old who was waking up at 3am thinking it was almost morning so would sit in bed reading a book or coloring in a coloring book. We already use a Hatch sleep to wake her up at 7am to get ready for school but she wanted away to be able to have a softer wake up where she could stay in bed reading her book for half an hour before officially getting up to get ready for school... Meanwhile I didn't want her alarm to go off at 6:30am so she could be woken up to read her book, because honestly 50% of the time she needs that extra half hour of sleep. So we agreed to have a light turn on at 6:30 which doesn't actively wake her up but if she wakes up on her own and sees that little light then she knows it's okay to stay in bed and read until her true alarm goes off and wakes her up or tells her it's time to put the book down and get ready for school at 7am. This little bear light works well for our 6:30am okay-to-read light since it had the option to turn on without making noise. I really wish we could pick the color and brightness though – The green is extremely bright and lights up the whole room so we haven't putting a little towel over the top of it to dim it down since I don't want it to actively wake her up, and the green is not the most fun color to wake up to since it creates a Frankenstein's lab type vibe.

Purchased for 8yo as she was asking for an alarm clock. This made the most sense from available in store selection. She likes it. I’m rating 3/5 stars for a few reasons: 1) the alarm is REALLY loud. I can hear it from other rooms in the house. 2) alarm can only be turned off by hitting button on back of clock. You can press top, but that just snoozes it. 3) time display is quite bright. There is a button on back to dim, but I have to do so every night. I don’t understand why the dimness setting won’t hold. Again, my child is happy. It holds time well (has battery backup for power outages) and the light to wake function works. I just think it could use a bit of improvement.

Works great so far. Controls are pretty intuitive. Green wake-up light is bright! Easy tap on the top turn off nightlight and wake up light. Wish it didn’t need to be plugged in. But overall exactly the cute clock I needed for nighttime.

This clock works exactly as we’d hoped it would: it gives our 4-year-old (who can’t tell time) a reference point on when “morning” starts (which is 6am for us), and he is able to go back to sleep on his own when he wakes up before he sees his “bear clock” turn green. We do not use the alarm feature; only the light. It’s easy enough to set the clock time and wake up light by following the instructions provided. At first it took a moment to figure out how to press down on the clock to turn the nightlight on and off, but now it’s second nature. For those saying the clock is too bright, there are brightness buttons on the back. Cute design as well.

Really helpful for communicating when it’s time to get up start the day! We began using it when our toddler was around 18 months in his crib to introduce the concept. He’s just over two now, and started climbing out of the crib. He’s now learning to stay and play in his room until his light turns green. So far, it’s been working well! It’s a simple design l, but that’s all we need right now.

I got this clock about two years ago. My daughter is now seven, but the improvements started from the beginning. This helped my daughter tremendously with knowing when it was okay to get out of bed (when the light turns green). She used to wake up at 5 am and was SO cranky. With the help of this alarm, we were able to establish boundaries and improve her sleep schedule. The nightlight is also very helpful. We also use the alarm option for the weekdays when school is in session. 10/10 I’d recommend this!
