This is the only sunscreen my son can use. He has broken out from every other sunscreen we have tried including Aveeno Zinc Oxide. We tried this Up & Up brand sunscreen on a recommendation from a friend that had similar experiences with sunscreen and her child. I was scared to try it after reading other parent's reviews, but I'm glad we did!
I wish I read the reviews before purchasing this sunscreen. I bought this sunscreen because it does not contain chemical sun filters thinking it would be better for my skin and body. However, I broke out in a red, itchy, sore rash on my chest and neck consistent with many of the other reviews here. I took this with me on a vacation and by day two, the rash was full fledge. It really put a damper on my trip because I was in a hot, sunny, and humid environment which only aggravated the rash further. I had to avoid the sun for the rest of my stay since I obviously could not apply anymore of this product to my neck and chest, and the itchiness would not let up so the discomfort was inescapable for about a week straight until the rash started to subside. Because of this experience, I'll be checking reviews before buying any products for my body or face. Buyer beware!
We picked up this sunscreen for a week long family beach vacation. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and have great difficulty finding anything that will not my eczema to flare . I always read labels, and this product seemed as though it was free of most of my allergens, so I took a chance and purchased 2 bottles. Unlike every other sensitive/mineral based sunscreen that I had previously purchased, my family all loved this lotion! No one burned or looked like a "ghost" after applying it, and I did not have any skin reaction! Dare I say, I may have FINALLY found a sunscreen that is effective, sensitive enough for me to use, my whole family likes, and is 1/3 of the price?! Even my mother (who hates mineral based sunscreens!) has found her new favorite! We just bought 2 more bottles for the rest of the summer. Thank you, Target, for making my life a little easier with this product!!
Got the worst rash of my life using this sunscreen, all over both legs, miserable and itchy that is currently on its fourth day. I do not have sensitive skin and have never gotten a rash from a sunscreen before, and I literally use every kind of brand. DO NOT BUY, this is an actual danger to kids if it affects adults this way. At best it will ruin your vacation, at worst you will go to urgent care.
This is my favorite sunscreen for my 3 kids. And the only one that they don't mind me putting on them. I'm kind of shocked at all of the bad reviews. I guess my kids don't have sensitive skin. Please don't take this off the market. We've used it for years and it's the best!...
My husband just used this product on his face and ended up in urgent care with red bumps and a swollen, itchy face. He used the sunscreen and then broke out about 48 hours later. The only change in his routine was the use of this sunscreen and after reading the reviews and seeing the pics that look similar to his rash, it is obviously the cause.
This sunscreen caused a terrible allergic reaction all over. Consistent with many others here, I have a bumpy, itchy rash where I applied this product. I am going on day 4 of the reaction so far and taking OTC antihistamine which doesn’t seem to help much. The rash seems to get worse with sun exposure or if I get overheated. Staying indoors in a/c is most comfortable. Who knows how long this will last?! I was appalled to see how many others have had a bad reaction to this stuff and it’s still on the shelves. Sounds like this has been going on for years! Very disappointed and makes me very wary to purchase up & up brand products in the future.
