These are little mini kits. Not too much to it. My kindergartener loved it though because her unicorn ate and pooped. I only gave 4 stars because there just wasn't much to do and this was put away after just 5 minutes.

Seemed cool that the type of toy inside is a surprise. When my almost-4-YO gdaughter opened this gift, she and her older sister were screaming w/laughter and delight. When I asked why, their mom told me the surprise unicorn that came inside was “pooping!” My mouth dropped in disbelief and embarrassment at its crudeness. But, when I saw how much the girls were laughing and kept playing with it, I thought WTH— it’s a natural to eat and eliminate waste, and they’re enjoying the toy. The container held everything neatly. I would not buy another, simply because there’s no way of knowing what surprise creature is inside, and therefore would not chance a duplicate.

As always, we love the actual sand & the container is nice. Everything is well made and sturdy but the unicorn doesn’t push the sand through as you might think from the picture. My 4 year old said, “it not doing well mommy”. - enough said. #disappointed

From the moment we received it in the mailbox, she has been super excited to open it up to see what her surprise will be. She got the tiki-volcano toy with red coloured kinetic sand! She really enjoyed playing with the kinetic sand, the feel of the sand in her hands and how it sticks together. She especially liked using the tiki-volcano toy to push the kinetic sand through it to create (in her own words) "french fry hair"! Lol I like that it comes in a container to store the sand and toy and how quick and easy it is to clean it all up after play since the sand is kinetic and all sticks together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generally my 4yo LOVES playing with Kenetic Sand. When we were chose for this o was really excited to give it to him. Once we got it open he wasnt sure how to use the toy we received with it. (We got the tiki toy). He was entertained for all of 2 minutes before this was it back into the container it came in. Pros: 1. The container os big and holds the toy and sand. 2. The color and toy are a mystery so its exciting to open up. Cons: 1. The sand comes in a plastic bag and just goes into the container 2. You cannot easily remove the sand from the tiki toy. 3. My 4 yo was frustrated by how hard it was to push the sand through the toy. 4. We could not remove all of the sand from the tiki toy and just had to pack it away. Its pretty likely he wont use the toy again, but the container os great for storing a lot of sand.

Upon opening the package the surprise was indicated on the paper attached to the lid (I saw it but it didn't ruin my son's surprise so just a warning). Once he opened it he knew exactly what it was.... A POOPING UNICORN!!!! How can one not love something that poops sand. In the lid are molds for fun shapes to feed your unicorn. Feeding those shapes can be a bit tricky. It does come with a little knife/spoon to help. Once the mouth was full he pressed down with all his might to get the sand moving. It did take a few feedings to get it out long enough to have a chuckle. You can't get it super long though because it is kinetic sand. Over all he was quite happy with the unicorn and pink sand. It's fun to play with and you have more than enough sand to play and build other things.
