  • A: Yes. To change the reading units on your thermometer, press the ON/OFF button once to turn the thermometer on and then press the ON/OFF button 2 more times in rapid succession. To change the units used in the app, click on the “Menu” icon and select “Settings” icon. An icon will be displayed to indicate which mode the thermometer is in. Touch the icon to switch modes.

So far this has been extremely helpful as I have 2 kids and typically they’re sick at the same time. Due to their sleep schedule I will give medicine at different times. Having different profiles are awesome. People complaining about the app as if not everyone has a cell phone these days so it seems like a very petty thing to complain about. It asks for your info such as name for a profile and birthdate for age appropriate recommendations. A 103 temp on a 6 yr old is not as dangerous as a 103 temp on a baby. As for “it asks for your location” you don’t have to enable location. You can also manually look it up. The purpose of this is to notify what virus may be in your area. For example, mine said covid cases are low but flu cases are high and still on the rise. I’ve noticed people say they checked their temp with a cheap thermometer and compared it to this one and it’s about a degree higher. I’ve always been told by my child’s pediatrician that with littles, unless taking a rectal temp, you want to add one degree (like when you use under the arm). So I feel like maybe this one is actually more accurate? I’ve had a couple of errors pop up because my kiddo kept moving her tongue. I’d take it out, tap “try again” on the app and it would reset and then it works just fine. So far it’s working great for me. I’d give it more of a 4.5 stars because while Covid is a thing, I don’t need a hundred recommendations or reminders to take a covid test and go get vaccinated. We’ve all been dealing with Covid for almost 3 years now. This isn’t our first rodeo. Once I’ve closed out that recommendation box, it should stay closed. It’s like someone constantly saying “are you sure it’s not covid?”….other things cause fevers besides covid. Overall I’m very satisfied at the convenience of this thermometer. I just need to keep it away from my toddler who’s already broken several of my other thermometers.

WHAT I LIKE : that it has an app to record all temps & leave notes also suggest when to call doctor or go to ER & I can always go back to notes with times and symptoms for my newborns doctor WHAT I DISLIKE : since buying this ( I have a now 7wk old) my newborn would stay at 99.9-100.3 4x she read 100.4 and once 100.6 she ended up not having a fever I do have a safety first thermometer that came with the grooming kit and today I decide to test them both ( rectal) and she read 100.0 and with the safety first she read 98.8 . So I believe this may read high now seeing others reviews and now I feel bad taking my newborn to ER getting poked at :(

Love that it comes with an app that helps you keep track of temperatures, symptoms and medications. Makes sure you know if you are in the danger zone and need to contact a dr or if you can manage at home. Gives you tips to help with symptoms. I would so recommend it because as a mother with a child or children with a high temperature at the same time.. its nice to have something help you keep track of each individual child’s progress when you have your hands full. Each time you check the temperature it reports it to your app.

I love the Kinsa thermometer it is so accurate and I love how I can record everything!! Even make notes and add reminders. This is my second Kinsa because the first one wouldn’t stop showing Error I got it in May so maybe it lasted 2 months before we started having issues with it. I couldn’t return it because I didn’t have a receipt and paid cash for it, this time i did keep the receipt and box in case it stops working again. But I do recommend this thermometer.

It’s nice when it works. Don’t waste your money, just get a regular thermometer. I had the ear Kinsa before this one and they both are junk. They seem nice at first but you’ll end up hating it. The ear one isn’t accurate and this one won’t stop showing an error message. Too much trouble for just getting a temperature.

Need app to check temp

So easy to use and with a fussy toddler I love that it gives you a temp within seconds. Only downside and the reason I didnt give it a 5 star rating is because you can only check the temp if the app is open. I love the app and thermometer but sometimes you just want a QUICK temperature check. I would’ve appreciated if it just uploaded your results the next time you open the app and not necessarily the min you check the temperature. Im going to have to buy a cheap backup because there could be different scenarios where I could possibly not have my phone available and need to get a quick temperature.

We wanted to reach out quickly to let you know you do not need the app open to take a temperature and have it recorded in the app. You can simply take a reading with your QuickCare thermometer and then whenever the thermometer is within rage of your smartphone the reading will be automatically transmitted. My two month old started running a fever and we were using our forehead thermometer and in remembered I bought this one a while back. I used this rectally and realized her temperature was two degrees warmer than the other one we had so we called the Dr immediately. We took her to the dr and they got a similar temperature so it assured me that the thermometer was accurate. The app is so handy the way it logs everything and gives suggestions on what to do. I’ve already recommended it to multiple friends because of this experience!

Easy to use, I Like the APP which provide all details regarding previous readings and helpful content. but looks like reading is always not Accurate. Also showing ERROR for many times , Readings are different even you use back to back. App is amazing with details and records.

So far it works well! (Day three of using it) I personally like that it connects to an app (plus the app includes other features as well, such as reminding you to take your temperature if you set that up). Also, if your Bluetooth isn’t working it still functions as a normal thermometer, and you can enter your temperature into the app manually.

To set up your Kinsa thermometer without using the app right out of the box, follow these steps: 1. Remove the 98.6ºF sticker from the thermometer's display. 2. Find the thermometer's button and click it once to turn it on. 3. Wait for APP to appear on the display 4. With "APP" showing on the display, VERY QUICKLY double-click the same button. Terrible- Reid's super high when you do not have a fever. I thought I had a fever for days until I realized this thermometer was terrible. The target brand for around $10 is so much more accurate. Plus you have to download an app to you an app to even use it.
