Very disappointed in this beautiful looking pot. I bought it for making soup because of the large size and I trusted the Kitchenaid name. Almost every time it has burned on the bottom even though I try to keep stirring during the short boil phase. It is also noticeable that the outside bottom is not flat because the oil pools to one side.
KitchenAid did not disappoint me. I wanted to make chicken soup, for the first time, and this handled a 6 lb. chicken and all of the veggies easily. I didn't want the non-stick finish as I have found some of those to be disappointing. I had not tried KitchenAid with the non-stick finish however. I rinsed this out and threw it in my dishwasher, along with its glass lid. They came out spotless. I would rather pay a little more for a brand I knew I could count on and it was well worth it. Also, and I wasn't expecting this, the pot has volume measurements in black on the polished finish inside. It was a nice touch. FYI, the soup was delicious!
This pot is not only beautiful with the bright red coloring but is also a quality product in stainless steel that makes cooking fun and functional. My mom loves the pot (I got it for a gift) and is quite pleased.
