Q: pls confirm DPCI # 072-04-2420 KitchenAid Professional 5 plus stand mixer, is this mixer has 450 W motor or 525W motor, discrepancy on item detail description.
A: I just got of the phone with Kitchen aid and they confirmed 450 watts for this discontinued model. I am still waiting for my order to see what it says on the box and I will call them again.
submitted byNaa - 8 years agoA: I just received my box and yes it’s 525 watts. Perfect much better than 450 watts, love it.
submitted byCristi - 7 years agoA: Bought it 3 weeks ago from Target. Item number 53676245. Online description is wrong. Its a 525 watt motor. I think it's a description for the older model.
submitted byEileen - 5 years agoA: I was doubtful, but it DOES have a 525 Watt motor. I even asked Kitchenaid before ordering and they said it would be a 450 Watt. However, once the package arrived the box read 525 Watts and the tags on the unit itself say Max Watts: 525 Watts. It appears that this model at one time had the 450, but has since been upgraded for the 525 Watt. For whatever reason the kitchenaid support did not get the updated documentation so they may mislead you into thinking it is 450 watts. This is a huge power increase and it is noticeable. Having said all of this.. This is a really good deal at this time. For half the cost of a Pro 600 you get a motor that is nearly as powerful. The pro 600 is only stronger by 50 watts (575 watts total). You would barely notice a difference in this case. This model should be able to handle anything the pro 600 can. The only real advantage to the pro 600 is the bigger bowl by 1 quart. Go with this one over the Pro 600. The $200 saving far outweighs the 6 quart bowl over the 5 quart. I hope this finally clears up the question on the watts.
