This PH balanced bi-phase milk oil was designed to hydrate + protect. The oil phase combines avocado, olive, jojoba + castor oils to restore moisture and rejuvenate the scalp and hair. The milk phase uses panthenol + a shea-based emollient complex to add instant softness and shine. Best part: this can be used on wet or dry hair.
Use Together: Shake the bottle to blend the oil and milk together. Fill dropper and apply anywhere from scalp to tip.
Use for Styling: Shake to blend then work from middle to ends on wet hair before air-drying, or use on dry hair to calm frizz + boost shine.
Tip: Pro Tip: Secure lid and put in a plastic bag when traveling.
Contains Zip-Up Technology (tm), our proprietary strengthening complex designed to "zip-up" split ends while targeting weak areas of the hair, smoothing the appearance of damaged cuticles and helping to protect hair from environmental stressors and color fade.

I was pleasantly surprised with this! I bought it on a whim hoping to make my hair a little softer, and now I use it all the time. I put it on after I shower and style my hair a bit to bring out my natural waves, and it always looks shiny and feels soft. I don't find that it makes my hair greasy like some oils can. It also helps my super thick hair dry a little faster after a shower which is a bonus I hadn't thought of. It has a light coconut-y smell, but it definitely isn't overpowering. Overall I ended up liking this milk oil way more than I expected. It doesn't work any miracles, but it's made my hair look and feel a little nicer.
I caught this product on clearance and decided to give it a shot. I'm mildly addicted to adding this to my self care routine. I have fine hair that gets limp and oily REALLY easily - So, I apply this at night and sleep with it on. I did try applying a very small amount after my shower for a day look but it make my roots look greasy. It does have a perfume smell to it but I don't find it overpowering and I am someone who gets nauseous walking into Bath and Body Works.
I am giving it 4 stars for two reasons. 1) I don't notice much of a difference in my hair or scalp. I like to believe it's doing more than I can determine. 2) You do have to shake it and immediately use it - it separates almost immediately.
Overall, I do recommend it because it's a beautiful looking and smelling product that makes me feel like I am treating myself. I really think that if you struggle with dry scalp or hair, it would be magic. I did go buy another one because I enjoy having it in my routine.

I was *shocked* by how much I love this product. Milky oil? What is that? Plus it's not from a line marketed at curly hair, and I rarely venture outside of dedicated curly-girl products anymore for my fine, 3a/b curls.
Well, I'm eating crow because it's great.
First of all it smells AMAZING-- most of the Kristin Ess products have a scent that's too strong and too... powdery, I guess? for me, but not this one! The herbaceous notes from the essential oils give it the perfect amount of freshness. I would bathe in this stuff if I could (I'm also praying she makes a new fragrance based off this product's scent).
As for effectiveness:
First off, I only use it from mid-shaft to the ends of my hair, not on my scalp, so I can't speak to its usefulness there.
I was skeptical about the milk part because my hair, once dried, does not like to be reintroduced to water. It gets frizzy and messy. But just adding oil to my hair never made sense either, because of how fine it is (and the fact that I have a pretty naturally oily scalp to begin with). Oils tend to weigh my hair down and make it look dirty. But this stuff, man-- I feel like it actually adds some moisture back to my hair, in addition to smoothing out the rough feeling my hair starts to get on the third day or so post-wash, but it's so lightweight that my hair doesn't look dirty, and not so watery that it frizzes out either.
Basically, I'm in love.
I live in NJ and was looking for something to help my dry itchy winter scalp. Since my hair usually gets greasy super quickly, I didn’t originally buy this when it caMe out but bought the rest of the scalp collection. As another reviewer mentioned, I massaged it into my scalp and let it sit for about 10 minutes before showering. I was nervous I wouldn’t get it all out and my hair would still look greasy after, but there was no grease after! My hair hasn’t been itchy since I showered so I think it really soothed my scalp. Haven’t tried it on dry hair, but I think I’d only use it towards my ends for extra moisture. Love this!!
I am in Colorado and dry hair, dry scalp is a constant issue in the winter time. I have been using this product as a finishing oil after I flat iron my hair and it leaves a soft smooth shine without weighing my hair down or making it look greasy. I only apply a little from about halfway down my hair to the tips and it works great.
