The first period I used these, I was SO CONFUSED! I had absolutely no idea how the tampon was supposed to come out of the applicator! (And I’ve been using tampons for years and years!) So I ended up just inserting them with my fingers and dealt with it. I refused to waste the rest of the package tho, so, this month, when my period arrived, I decided to read reviews to figure out how to use them! It’s sooo easy! Like duh! So now I absolutely love them, and will never switch back to Playtex!!!
Only good thing about these is the price...These were my first organic cotton tampon purchase, and I can only hope not all are this bad! I have never had to change a tampon so much in my life! I have gone through three a day because I start to spot. That is not OK! I need to find something better and start reading reviews before making a new purchase...
I came to Target searching for The HoneyPotCo brand tampons. I usually order them online but it was a little too late for me to place an order bc my cycle was soon approaching. I went to the store, saw they didn't have/were out of the tampons I wanted so I searched for another organic cotton tampon brand. These were the cheapest so I got the mixed package with regular and super. The product isn't well made. The applicator is a compact applicator where you have to expand it before insertion (which I didn't know when I bought them), and sometimes it doesn't expand properly (read: completely falls apart). The string is thin and they don't absorb well. I've had to change much more frequently than I have with other quality brands. I appreciate the L. brand mission but their product needs to be better than having the organic label on it. That's not all that matters.
I don't have any problem using these tampons. People talking about how the applicator doesn't work... I'm not sure if they know you have to fully expand it until it *clicks* or else it won't work? Because I had no problem with that part. I like that they are organic - as I am trying to change my lifestyle to a more sustainable and non-toxic one.
So they work fine, but the packaging is kind of ridiculous! A non-recyclable plastic bin with plastic applicators and plastic wrapper for 30 tampons is such a waste. I was unaware they had cardboard "refill" boxes so please just buy those instead. Also if they ever make no-applicator or cardboard applicator ones I will buy those instead. So I will probably not repurchase until then.
Love these tampons! I use to use the pink colorful ones (spacing on the brand) but they were drying me out and it was so painful! The applicator is “cheaper” but I don’t mind because I wear them for 6-7 hours with no leakage!
I almost never feel inclined to write a negative review but these tampons are the WORST. The applicator is totally useless. It doesn’t actually push the tampon out so you end up getting it in 1/4 of the way, having to attempt to remove the applicator without pulling the tampon back out, and then push the tampon up with your fingers as if it was an applicator-less tampon.
My period is a blood bath so this leaves me with blood literally all over my hands and arms, which is not great when I’m at work. Avoid at all costs.
Honestly, I've never found a perfect tampon. They all leak at least a little, but that's what pantyliners are for. These are as good as any of the name brand tampons I've used PLUS they're organic cotton, really affordable, and come in cute packaging. So, about as close to perfect as I've ever found.
