I love Effaclar Duo so thought I'd buy this. I was attracted to the mattifying properties. The product is kind of cakey and has to smoosh it a bit to keep it on my hand. Within 2 hours my head was greasy. I applied another layer. Another 2 hours, I had to apply again. I would literally have looked less oily if I hadn't put anything on my face. I shall stick to compressed powder from now on.
Great for covering acne, just use moisturiser too!

I love this product! It's really helped me out as a guy trying to cover my red acne/spots without looking like I'm wearing makeup. This product does have a chemical smell and a greasy feel when you first apply, but it does its job and soon turns matte. The colour at first may be dark but if you keep gently rubbing it in it magically fades to your skin tone (in my experience anyway, I have freckles too), and it also covers pores on the nose perfectly. At first I was anxious to use it thinking it will block my pores and give me more breakouts, but trust me.. it really doesn't! Just make sure to use a non comedogenic moisturiser (won't block pores) 10 minutes before using this, as it will make dry patches more apparent if you don't. This may not help cover huge whiteheads, but it covers my red acne bumps and redness around my whiteheads, and has made me a lot more confidant to go out when my skin is bad. And trust me when I say you really can't tell you're wearing anything, it blends in for me really well, just let the product settle in for 10 minutes.
I don't like liquid foundations and prefer to use BB creams instead. I really love the matte finish and texture of this cream, and honestly no other BB creams could top it in terms of how it looks on my skin. It also gives you the right coverage and does not make you look too orange. The only problem that I have is that my skin is naturally very dry and eczema-prone, so Effaclar products are not really for me. This particular formula is also quite efficient in absorbing oil, so unfortunately it does dry out my skin quite a lot even with a super hydrating moisturiser underneath, which is a shame because I do love the texture. I wish something similar existed in other LRP lines such as Lipikar or Toleriane, which would have the same matte finish, but was more hydrating and nourishing...
Tried so many of the cheaper foundations for oily skin which either blocked pores or still oily. This is a little more expensive but keeps the oil away by far the best of any product I have used, looks natural as well. I still use a little bit of powder over the top but I have very oily skin.
I’ve suffered with oily skin for a long time but developed rosacea and enlarged pores in my late 20’s. I’ve tried multiple things to help it, but have resorted to covering it up. Nothing really worked to cover the redness except Estée Lauder’s Double Wear, until I found this! I’ve used La Roche-Posay moisturiser for a long time, and have tried the CC cream, which only made my skin feel more oily. I bought the BB a few weeks ago to give something else a shot and initially applied it with my fingers. It was awful, smudgy, and did nothing for my rosacea: barely covering it and clogging my pores. However, after leaving it for a few days, I went back and tried applying it with my foundation brush instead. WOW! Instant transformation- I can’t express that enough! It’s better than any foundation I’ve used (cheaper too), I can build it up, it blends beautifully and doesn’t feel like I need to scrub it off by the end of the day. It’s covered my rosacea and definitely blurs my pores. I can’t believe what a difference it’s made. Absolute game-changer for me.
