This meal is the best for those times when you're on a diet, but you're craving for Mexican food is raging! The perfect level of spice and flavor. My co-workers always ask what I'm eating when I walk by after my meal is done in the microwave. I'm hungry now just thinking about this deliciousness! Yum
I loved this entree. If you are expecting a savory seasoning more like a Tex Mex flavor this entree may not be for you. It tastes more like a sweet, cinnamon type Indian flavor. Very good if you like that type of flavor!
Unlike previous reviews, I don't have any complaints where flavor is concerned. It didn't taste overly-sweet (imo) and it only has 6 grams of sugar. I didn't find any areas to be 'soggy'. Everything is consistent if you stir thoroughly. I also love the fact that I recognize all the ingredients and it is a good source of fiber. Pairs nice with tortilla chips. :)
So first let me say I really like most of the Marketplace meals I've tried. I usually get the Santa Fe style Rice and beans in the Favorites, but the last time it seemed like there were almost no beans, so I thought I'd try this one. It seems to me if you're gonna call it Beans and Rice, it should be mostly beans. Or at least more than this has. I would say minimum ratio of 1:2, 1:1 would be even better. Rice doesn't pack a lot of protein, which is super important when you're cutting calories.
