Great Tool for Young Children

3 out of 5 stars

We have owned several Leapfrog toys over the years, and the original TAG was one of the most successful. My son used it from the age of three, and still loves to learn new stuff on his own, three years later. Now that he is in kindergarten, we wanted to try the new LeapReader, to practice writing an...  see moreof Tiziana's review

My kindergartener LOVES the new LeapReader system. The fact that he can actually write with the reader is so much fun, and of course, I love that it only works on the special paper. We can't wait to add more books to his collection. There are so many fun choices! **I received this item free of char...  see moreof Dina's review

My son is 6 going into the first grade this fall and this has been especially perfect during the summer when its so easy to forget everything you had learned during the school year. Personally, I like how I don't necessarily need to take a lot of time to sit down and work with him on it because the ...  see moreof Marta28's review

When I received the LeapReader, I was a bit worried that my autistic five year-old wouldn't be able to to understand how to use it fully. I was pleasantly surprised when he grabbed it, turned it on and dove right into a book like he had used the LeapReader for years. His favorite feature is the abil...  see moreof Emily's review

Bought for 4 year old grandson to help him learn to read, play with a book and have the PEN help him sound out words. He is in preschool but this helps him be independent and try to read by himself. HE thinks he is reading by making up words, so this helps him learn words without making up a story...  see moreof Laura's review

I bought this for my 4 year old. She is just about done with preschool and will be starting K in the fall. Since they want K to be able to read at the start of the year I thought this would be a great tool to use over the summer to help her work on her reading skills. I downloaded the Get Ready for ...  see moreof AR's review

I should download the audio files from their web site, it was pretty easy to install for me. One feature that I wish to have in this Leap reader is, hold button.
