My 6 year old loves these blocks! I love that he challenges himself by creating his very own equations. He gets his older siblings in on the learning fun too! We have made some fun shaped cookies using the blocks as well!

Helpful for number recognition and early math equations!

These number and counting blocks are a great tool for helping kids with a variety of number related skills! My 4 kids, from 2 y/o through 3rd grade, are all able to play with and use them in different ways. I love how Learning Resources creates games that can be used for a range of ages! The blocks in the set are made of brightly colored plastic. These blocks came in a sturdy box, but also a convenient storage bag with Velcro enclosure. The set included numbers 0 through 10, equal/plus (multiply)/ minus(divide) signs, and brightly colored octagons to be used as manipulatives or to assist in counting, adding, or subtracting. They're great for one to one correspondence, as well. The youngest kiddos can sort them by color and practice stacking them, while working on color and number recognition and fine motor skills. Slightly older, my daughter is stacking the correct number of pieces on top of the corresponding number, counting the blocks, and visualizing how adding and subtracting work (even if not yet ready to add and subtract), even working on early addition and subtraction. My older kids can tip the plus and minus signs, and work on multiplication and division. What's most rewarding is seeing older kids teach numbers to the younger kids. An additional bonus for kids of all ages: the backs of the pieces are hollow for play doh cutting! This is a great hands on set that really allows for work in many different areas. Another win for LR! I received this item as part of an incentivized review program.
