about this item

Fascinate your friends by completing an ordinary task in an extraordinary way. Learn to build 10 LEGO® machines that can swing, pivot, roll, lift, and drop. Then connect, rearrange, and experiment with the machines to create a chain reaction. With this book in hand and a handful of basic bricks from your LEGO® collection, the only other thing you'll need is a little imagination.Includes:80-page book of instructions33 LEGO® piecesInstructions for 10 machines6 plastic ballsStringPaper ramps
LEGO® Chain Reactions is packed full of ideas, instructions, and inspiration for 10 LEGO machines that spin, swing, pivot, roll, lift, and drop. Each machine alone is awesome, but put them together and you get incredible chain reactions. Then, combine the machines in any order you like to create your own chain reactions. Our team of experts worked with educators and 11-year-olds to invent the machines, then wrote a book that teaches the skills (and some of the physics behind the fun) kids need to create their own amazing chain reaction machines.

Our book includes 33 special LEGO elements that combine with basic bricks from your collection to make your machines go. But don?t worry that you won?t have the right bricks; we worked with the folks at LEGO to make sure you?ll need only the most common bricks, and that there are plenty of substitutes. The result is a chain reaction of fun, as one thing leads to another? and another? and another.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for nephews. Grandma's do the babysitting so this toy will keep the imagine going without the computer. Grandma will be busy helping but it will be an enjoyable time for all. Creative thinking is a good thing.

I purchased this for my son's birthday. It was perfect, we spent a day building many of the items in the book. I did reinforce the paper bucket with tape, so it would stay together and not get destroyed. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to build and want their creations to move. I woul...see moreof the reviewer's review

The other Lego books just show pictures of neat Lego constructions without presenting any help to kids who actually want to build them. However, this book shows kids how to build new things using the included pieces along with their own Lego collection. The contraptions are all simple machines that...see moreof the reviewer's review

This is a great product! I hate that all Legos now come in kits. All the kids know how to do is build the kits. Then what? This book gives some fun ideas on creation to build--and gives key pieces to help build those creations. Yes, your child will have to use his/her own Legos to build the majority...see moreof the reviewer's review
