Celebrate green energy innovation with the LEGO Creator Expert 10268 Vestas Wind Turbine. Developed in partnership with Vestas, this detailed, motorized LEGO model captures the elegance and graceful movement of a traditional wind turbine and features a new spruce tree, manufactured from sustainably sourced plant-based plastic. At approximately 39" (1m) high, the structure towers above a wooded hill and a house with furnished patio, mailbox, flowers and a white picket fence. Turn the nacelle left or right and switch on the included Power Functions motor to rotate the adjustable wind turbine blades and illuminate the cottage's porch light. This collectible model has been designed to provide a challenging and rewarding building experience with a touch of nostalgia and makes a great display piece for the home or office. This big LEGO set also includes a Vestas service vehicle and 3 minifigures: 2 Vestas service technicians kitted out with safety helmets and a woman, plus a dog figure.
This is a brilliant Lego set. I have a number of Lego sets but this was my first ever motorised set. It was a fun and slightly challenging build. It makes a great ornament/statement piece and is a great conversation starter with visitors. My only negative comment with not with the Lego itself but with the motor. It is so noisy and it drives you mad. If Lego could make a motor that is not so loud that would be great as you could have the set on and get the full effects without that annoying noise. I didn't give this set five stars for value for money as for the money you would expect more bricks . However the height of this set makes up for this. Overall this is a fantastic Lego set.
This is one of the most interesting sets I have ever constructed. It is satisfyingly challenging to build and the completed model makes an excellent display piece. Personal highlights are the prototypical speed gearing and the impressive size.
This overall was a great build but I was disappointed with the packaging. None of the bags were numbers by "sections" for the build so it requires you to have to look through 12+ bags of legos to find a single piece, a lot of which are very small and requires you to have the second look.
To start, I think this is a really special set. The only actual criticism I could have is the price; yes, it is a little expensive. But in building the set, it kind of justifies itself a *little*. Every piece is printed--no stickers. There are motors and lights, and there are a lot of very large pieces which I assume are more expensive which drive up the price. That said, this is well worth any diehard LEGO fans collection. It features a classic LEGO house reminiscent of classic old sets, and seeing it completed and operating is truly impressive. Interestingly all 826 pieces are in un-numbered bags; I just poured them all out into one big pile like the good old days and had a blast! Would recommend.
Overall the set was super fun to put together. Waaaaay taller than I realized it would be so make sure you have a spot. I really liked that the bags weren't numbered so it reminds me of the glory days. Also big YEAH for no stickers!!!! The one bit of feedback I'll give is some of the areas around where the power cables go are a bit tight. Other than that really fun set to put together.
Overall I like this set. Looks very impressive and slightly larger than expected. The build was fun. Not difficult aside from a few tricks tucking in wiring. The bags aren't numbered, and you have to open them all at once, but that didn't bother me. I read a lot of complaints about the sturdiness, however, I didn't find sturdiness to be a problem. In my opinion the set is actually quite sturdy for how tall it is. On the down side, it doesn't look like a lot of thought went into the building. It feels incomplete. There's a satellite dish with no TV and a chimney with no furnace, but the worst part is the big empty gap between the back of the building and the grassy knoll. At the very least there could have been a stair way added that leads up to the bench on top of the knoll. Maybe instead of adding the van to this set, more could have been added to the building. The lights are a nice touch, but would have been better off on top of the turbine instead. My other complaint is the motor. It's too loud and would have been fun if you could adjust the speed. Despite all that, I still like the set, and it will be fun to make my own improvements to it.
