One of the world’s most eye-catching plants, the Bird of Paradise can grow up to two metres tall. Now you can build your own tribute to this exceptional flower with the LEGO Bird of Paradise (10289) DIY building set for adults. The artificial flowers and leaves can be repositioned, allowing you to style the plant to create your own unique Bird of Paradise display. A beautiful centerpiece for home or office, and with surprising LEGO elements, this artificial plant model makes a great conversation starter – do you see the little purple LEGO swords used to make the flower’s stamens? Part of the LEGO Botanical Collection for adults, this set offers you the chance to unwind by creating a beautiful flower decor piece to display. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for the best LEGO sets for adults. Take a look at the other collectible sets in the series including the LEGO Flower Bouquet (10280) and the LEGO Bonsai Tree (10281). As a guide, the tallest leaf limb measures over 18 in. (46 cm) high and the flowerpot measures over 5 in. (13 cm) in diameter. Contains 1173 pieces.

This set when put together is so beautiful. The picture on the box doesn't do it justice. I really enjoyed the build especially the pot. Would recommend.

Too many leaves, not enough flowers

I love the botanical theme sets but this set missed the mark. As the title says, they overdid the leaves. Could use additional 2-3 flowers.

Bought this because I enjoyed the Orchid build for the most part and like having the plants as a decoration. This is definitely overpriced for what it is - the build is mostly the vase and pretty repetitive, would have been nice for more flowers or some more variety. It's nature so what can you expect. The worst part is that 300 pieces are just for the soil in the pot - the last step is literally mix 300 stud pieces in a bag and dump them into the center. I thought that was kind of pathetic for a Lego set, so the piece count is definitely padded with that and the technic pieces to join the stems together. Get this only when it's on sale - not a $100 purchase. About 2 and a half hours to build the rest of it.

Needs improvement on few pieces...

With such a great design (almost perfect), I don't understand why Lego did not make effort to improve few connecting pieces to make the set complete and standing-out. I got so disappointed when some connecting pieces are in black and grey colors. They stick out like sore-thumb among the deep green of the leaves and the stems. The colors of those pieces were so so obvious and awful when the set was completed. I understand that Lego tried to re-use the existing pieces that were used in many previous designs/sets. But this is tacky and kinda sloppy looking and actually ruins the whole concept of the design. I think that Lego should take more serious considerations and be more thoughtful in their future designs.

It’s a bit pricey but it gives you a few hours of entertainment. It looks great, I wanted it for my workplace office but decided to keep it home and I might get a different one for the office. Do recommend.

Truly beautiful Bird of Paradise

I find it very interesting and it looks beautiful on the shelf. The building process was very calming for me, no stressful or difficult parts to build. The pot is just gorgeous and I love the leaves a lot, it may look odd to some, but that's exactly how this plant looks like in real life, so the build is very accurate. I really enjoy just looking at it. Well done!

Bird of paradise

While in USMC boot camp I would always see these flowers planted throughout the base. I ordered this because thinking about the beauty of the birds of paradise flowers helped me get through some hard times. The build was pretty fun and I don’t have to worry about watering the flowers while I am not home doing military things.

Great First Build

Absolutely loved this build. My first lego set and the directions were very clear and easy to follow. The set was expensive to have some of the connector pieces be out of color (grey or black, when they should’ve been some shade of green). Other than that I have no complaints. In the photo my shortest flower is turned the opposite direction than that stated in the manual, but I just preferred if that way.

Really spectacular piece. The instructions were clear as always, the design so innovative. The flowers truly look like birds of paradise. We got it as a gift for my sons to build with their grandmother who loves birds of paradise and it was perfect. Truly spectacular. Thank you!

It is a beautiful piece to look at, not so much play with. The only thing that would have made it better, if it came with a one way ticket, to paradise!
