[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm halfway through the build: I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that there is a campaign from Wizards of the Coast available to download.

I loved this set, it has been the most expensive one I have in my collection, and is my favorite. It is worth the cost, and I recommend it to anyone

Got it for myself on release. Love all the hidden things in it. The dragon itself is worthy of being a set.
Took Forever but was so much fun to build.

I played Lord of the rings in the background while building this and it really added next level atmosphere. It took me about a week to build two bags to three bags a day basically. It's a beautiful set overall and I really enjoyed all the little additions like the bottles and food and boxes full of items. The DND theme figures fit well obviously.
Good unique builds, price is a bit inflated

I like the build overall, the dragon has good articulation. The price is a bit inflated. there are 6 chibi figurines in this set. So the cost is increased by $30. Its a pricy set even w/o the chibis, but nevertheless why make it more expensive. I would still recommend this set, I think the builds are pretty unique.

The whole set looks epic and it's full of little details, secrets, and with plenty of 'ooo that's clever' moments when putting it together.

A fantastic experience to build and a great statement piece on the shelf. The added adventure is an amazing bonus to accompany such a solid set!
Dragon build isn't what it should be

Cinderhowl's neck and mouth is problematic and doesn't function as expected. The ball joint holding her head to her neck is way too loose, so that she can only look downward. Part 6168645 plugs into 6486091 as the basis for holding her lower jaw to her head (book 4 step 233). This does not work. The hold between the two is far too weak, leading her jaw to fall at the slightest brush. At this price, I think these two faults are really obvious and should have been caught. Unrelated: fix this form. It requires ad blockers to be disabled in order to post a review, which makes no sense at all.

I have not played D & D since I was in my teens. What I loved most about the game were the story lines. Meeting in secret at a pub or tavern, going on adventure to release a fellow traveler from the castle dungeon. Fighting weird and strange creatures, animals, dragons. I also loved the short-lived D & D Saturday morning cartoon. This LEGO set brings all the things I love about D&D to life in a majestic and magical way. The details are superb. And I love that i can actually play D&D with the completed LEGO build. Love it!!

I bought this as end of summer gift for my 8-year old. She was able to build most of it by herself over a course of a week. Then, we played a campaign she imaged instead of the one provided by LEGO. What a great set! There are so many hidden spaces, secrets, monsters. I'm wondering about re-play value once the players know where all of the secret places are, but maybe it can be combined with other sets to expand the campaign. Definitely recommended.

4 instruction books for 4 different sections of the build means the whole family can tackle this build together. The details are amazing, and everyone loved finding all the Easter eggs or small details in every area.

I loved building this set from the very first brick, I catch myself staring at it and playing with it weeks later. Took me about 30 hours to build since I'm new. The set is dense and well designed, my only complaint is how loose Cinderhowls jaw is, the way it connects is cool but not very stable. Then again, it's not something to fiddle with constantly so it shouldn't be an issue. My favorite part of the set is how everything in the set is there for a reason since there is a dedicated D&D Campaign that comes with the set! Playing with friends make this set come alive, it's playable even if you don't know D&D rules! 5/5 Best Lego set released!
