1st of all thank you LEGO for bag numbering. My grandson , who is 11, has built many LEGO's and some above his age group. He did find some difficulty by placing some parts of similar appearance in the wrong place. He and I both took notice how Yoda was constructed and now has started to build his own character using grandpas vast collection of extra pieces. Over all I believe this set is outstanding and looks just like Yoda.I do think the build is a bit difficult for the average 10 year old LEGO builder.
The instructions for bag 4 and 5 are horrible, I will have to take both apart and start over, the instructions overall are poor. Happy with the fact that it is a Yoda build but, this set is not done well and I am not even halfway through it. Show where the parts go not just outlined (Poorly) where to place a bunch of bricks. Not enjoying this sets build much.
The actual building of this is pretty boring, one of the most boring sets ive ever build in fact, however what do you expect when 95% of the bricks are the same colour, however the final build is awesome, LOVE Yoda, not a huge fan of Star Wars but had to have this one! Worth the buy but be prepared for a boring build.
It's an awesome set. Building is a different story. I'm missing parts, it's difficult to explain to a child that we have to wait for the missing parts. He wants to forge ahead, but apparently the missing neck piece is a pivot point. We're about halfway through the process, missing a piece of the neck, Yoda is very unstable, I'm not sure if it is because of the missing piece. We continued on, now Yoda..... he has fallen.... 2 hours for nothing in his eyes. We have to basically start from the beginning of the last bag again.
Finished product is great and as a Yoda fan, you’ll love the result. It really is a display piece rather than play item. The build was not hard but the very many small pieces made the build experience a bit tedious at times.
As a massive fan of Yoda, this set was a must have the instant I saw it in the store. I have never built a character model like this before—the majority of sets that I purchase and build are modular buildings, and vehicles. However, I absolutely loved building this. Every time I finished a section I would sit back and marvel at how it was coming together. If I had to make a criticism, it would be that his head is a little small for his body, compared to the real Yoda, but I suspect that there would be no way of increasing the size the small amount needed without losing detail. At the end of the day, it’s a fantastic looking model with oodles of detail and well worth the price. Lego, please make more of these types of sets. I’m thinking Ewoks and Jawas would be great additions (and doable given their similar dimensions).
