You can free play if you have little ones but it offers a challenge for you or your older kids, so it's for the whole family!! I enjoyed playing with something I had played with as a child with my kids. Block play leads to hours of imaginary play indoors or out. Legos are portable and can go where you go.

It is really cool because it has different moving parts in it so it helps make it fun for kids to keep playing with. You’ll need to download the app.It was pretty easy to build and kept my granddaughter occupied for hours.

The Lava Wave ride itself is a cool and inventive build, with a number of different moving parts and interactive features that make it fun to play with. The Chain Chomp and Thwomp elements add an extra level of challenge to the set, and the different Mario-themed characters and accessories are a nice touch. One of the best things about this set is the level of detail and care that went into its design. My son loved the detail. The different elements are all well-crafted and fit together seamlessly, and the instructions for building the set are clear and easy to follow.

You need to download the app for all the tips and instructions and when it is all done let the fun begin! The interactive Mario character is my favorite it is The Best and the way it can collects coins makes playing even more enjoyable! My kid got creative with the wheel it would use it to ride his other toys as well and spend so much time just playing and interacting with his favorite Super Mario. If your kiddo into Super Mario just go for this one! I absolutely recommend

The action takes this up a notch and makes it even greater fun. There are a ton of pieces to build with and create more designs with existing sets so the fun goes on endlessly. I am continually amazed at the creativity this and other Lego sets inspire so it pleases me to add this to my kid’s collection.

My husband may have been the one who got the privilege of putting it together but my two boys and daughter also had fun playing with it along with myself. We have the Super Mario starter set along with a few other expansions and they all go well with this expansion. Make sure to update the app or you won't find the instructions to assemble. Not a hard build but fun to play with and Mario plays the fire level music and sound effects. My daughter is particularly fond of moving the skeleton head coaster side to side using the handles to knock off the fire guys at each end without Mario falling off. This does not come with a starter character or starter set so you do need one to play the game.
