A very enjoyable build with nice little touches that round out the experience: fire extinguishers, first aid kit with contents, shovbel etc. Looks the part in my LEGO display.

Terrific Lego Technic model

This was one of the best Lego Technic builds I ever had. Terrific style and so many mechanical moving parts. Just one: the Mercedes style gull-wing opening doors. Comes in two colors and I added some parts in purple of my own. Also, I dropped the tank treads in favor of wheels (taken from my collection). And I didn't like the decals included which I felt just messed up the beautiful lines of the jeep. In addition, I added extra parts for decoration such as head lights, swivel seat, opening roof and trim to improve the overall beauty of the car's lines. On the downside, I have never built a Lego Technic product with so many missing parts and items I don't think were packed in the box or even exist. Fortunately, I have a big, organized collection of standard Lego parts. And I turned to them more and more. Also, Lego could have been a little more generous and supply the pieces in numbered bags (such as is done in the Porsche and Bugatti). It was very frustrating to go through all the trays of parts I set up in order to minimize the search time (and the frustration). All in all, this was a great build and terrific outcome (as you'll see in the pictures) though some frustration was involved.

Oh no! It’s very rare for a LEGO® set to be missing pieces. Usually you’ll find them stuck in the packaging, used in place of a similar piece, or hiding somewhere near your building area. If you’ve checked all over and the parts haven't appeared it’s super easy to request a replacement. Just go to LEGO.com/Service and choose the “Bricks & Pieces” option to get started. As for those numbered bags, while many of our sets do have them, others (like this one) do not. Sometimes that's because the build doesn't naturally break into stages, and sometimes it's to give our fans a little extra challenge.

This was an awesome build and is a very good looking piece. There is a tonne of detail and the functions are well thought of. My only gripe would be that the suspension is definitely lacking! It needs some bigger shocks with more play! One of the best Technic builds no doubt!

Bought this kit for my 6yo son and I. We had a great time building it, all the functions work great. The tracks have a cool mount and the axles are awesome - well thought of.

I wish the plastic packets were labelled and one could open a pack at a time as you progress through the instructions. Besides that minor niggle it's been a fulfilling experience building a Technics set like this again.

Possibly the best set ever.

All I can really say is this is possibly the best set ever made for Technic. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this set. The body has the look of a pick-up with a campershell on it. The front end is designed very well, with lots of transparent elements used for lighting details. It has a push bar with 4 huge off road lights. A cool winch in the bumper. Open the hood and there sits a huge V-8 engine, with a nice hood bulge. I thought it may be a hood scoop, but it has a snorkel air cleaner on the right rear. Open the doors; which in themselves are the coolest doors I had seen in the 13 sets I built so far, and check out one the the best looking interior setups I have seen yet. There is a shifter and guage cluster. As a side note, the doors use a suspension coil over spring for a detent so the doors are literally spring loaded. A hand of God knob behind each door operates the winch and lifts the top of the campershell. Each side of the shell has an opening door storing adverturing items. At the rear of the truck, again excellent use of transparent lenses to depict the various tail/stop/turn lights, and, such a small but completely awesome detail, a set of twin chrome exhaust tips on each side. Turn the spare road wheel, and it unlocks the rear door! A slight cargo area, and a handle, which when pulled opens a storage compartment for the most realistic shovel you can imagine! There are work lights each side rear of the camper, and 4 of the most legit fuel cans that about 20 elements each of Lego can build. Also spare track shoes are stored, and two whip antennas are here. Looking at the chassis, it is represented very well with differentials, driveshaft, and axles to drive the awesome snow-studded tracks! A nice feature is the use of chrome parts to add some flash to the coil springs. And the whole truck sits on FULLY independent suspension. As I said before, there is not one thing I don't like about this model. If the Flagship was the 42070, somebody dropped the ball so bad on that that they surely made up for it with the 069.

A brilliant set!

I bought this for myself recently, and it certainly has not disappointed! The highlight of this set is definitely the complex suspension, and a roof tent and winch are good features too. The new addition of rubber on the vehicle's tracks mean that it can now be pushed on all surfaces instead of just sliding along if the ground is too smooth. The colour scheme is quite unusual, but I love it as it really stands out. My only issues: The antennas snap off really easily and also this set does not have the option of power functions. Still, a great build in my opinion!

This set is just amazing. The level of complexity of the drivetrain and suspension blows me away. Who ever designed this props to them. Hope to see more on this level.
