Lidded Glass Jar Crackling Wooden Wick Candle Applewood and Amber - Threshold™

This would've deserved five stars if based only on the scent. Apple-scented candles in other brands can be iffy and I usually don't like them, but this is a more authentic apple scent than most. It combines so nicely with the amber to give a great autumn scent. However, there are major burning issues that can't be ignored. (This is not unique to this particular candle, but happens with all of the Threshold wood wick candles, unfortunately.) I am an avid candle user and know all the of the rules for how to burn candles correctly to maintain their longevity, such as trimming wicks regularly, allowing for a longer burn time the first time you use it, and always burning it long enough to get an even pool of wax across the top before extinguishing it. I have done all of those things with this candle, but I'm still getting tunneling, as well as wax drowning the wicks so they won't stay lit. I don't know if the issue is the wax type or the wicks or some combo of the two. Therefore, I'm knocking two stars off.

I bought the 9 Oz candle after reading haunting wick reviews. I'm happy to say I had no issues whatsoever with the wick not staying lit. I did not trim it first. The candle burns nicely every time. The scent is light but present. Can definitely smell the amber, with a hint of apple. Really nice smell and not heavy at all. I'd buy this again & again.

Love the smell, but the wick is defective. I've bought the candle 4 times, it worked great once, the wick burned poorly and left a third of the candle on two, and this one won't stay lit.

I love the sound of a wood wick candle. This doesn’t have a super strong throw but it’s perfect for a small space.

Also has a very pleasant crackling sound.

This is hands down the best candle I’ve ever owned. One candle fills my entire apartment with the most welcoming, warm scent that it lasts and lingers long after blowing out. I buy it over and over again and recommend it to everyone who ever mentions candles to me lol the jar itself lasts a very long time too. I love the sound of the wood wick!!!

Smells like apples/fall. I’m halfway done with it after burning I’d say 20 hours. The crackling is nice but sometimes I forget it’s the candle and have tried to figure out where the sound is coming from because I’m not used to it.

Smells great and the wick does in fact crackle. Bought this for a guy friend and he loves the smell!

I am pretty frustrated by this candle. On the one hand, it smells amazing, a nice sweet apple scent wound through with woody amber. A lovely fall scent, and it can be hard to find apple scents without a lot of spice, so it gets points for the scent. Unfortunately, on the other hand, it won't stay lit. The wax pool drowns the wick every time. I have tried pouring off some of the wax, and it doesn't seem to matter. I have other candles in this style that do not have this problem.

The smell is great without being cloying; the packaging is appealing. The only problem is the thin, wide wick goes out very easily and does not produce a large enough flame to stay lit above the wax, even when properly trimmed.

Amazing smell, probably my fav candle scent ever! And I love the sound of the wood wick, so cozy. BUT, as many others have noted, it does not burn well. Mine burned evenly, but the wooden wicks do not go all the way to the bottom of the candle. So once the wicks burned out there was still well over an inch of unused wax at the bottom :(

Lightly scented. I bought it as I like the sound of wooden wicks, and the jar is nice.

This is my all time favorite candle from Target. Hands down. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing smell and burn. Such a good find that I had to buy one for my friend as well. Some Threshold candles don’t let off a strong enough scent in my opinion, but this is such a strong “autumn” scented candle that doesn’t smell like some type of food.

Long lasting and great scent. I love the crackle of the wood wick. This has lasted me probably 30 burns or so. I love all of their wood wick candles

The side of the candle exploded while burning. When the wax melted one of the wicks tipped over and began burning the side of the candle.

I liked the scent. It does crackle. The downside is the price tag...It went up, since I last purchased
