A: Actually I have TWO different sized little tykes turtle sandbox with lid. The larger one actually has 2 bump things (1 on each side) to keep the lid in place and is a bit more sturdy. It’s an older one but there are two different versions.

Q: Just got this. The lid just loosely rests on top of the base (doesn't snap on). How have folks secured the lid so it doesn't fly off in bad weather? (It weighs nothing). Kinda an oversight by the manufacturer :/

It’s a small sandbox but perfect for small areas or little ones. The kids don’t care about the size. The lid does a good job of staying put and keeping the sand dry. Overall it’s a good deal and a good product. Sturdy and able to move it full with more than one person. I would buy it again (and actually have. We have one and this one I bought for my grandson.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Turtle Sandbox is absolutely brilliant. It really is a timeless classic and really well made. It is clearly going to last a long time. It's great that you can use it as a ball pit or sandpit, so perfect for winter or summer fun. Its really big so fits loads of balls in and we have been hiding various toys inside which has been a fun game. We've also been using the lid turned over as a car and driving it around and an apple tree where we can throw the apples (balls) and then count them. I feel like everyone needs the turtle sandbox in their home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coming into these wet and cold months the garden play has been more difficult, but we’ve been able to use the Turtle Sandbox inside the house as a ball pit! You won’t find a child that doesn’t enjoy a ball pit. The cute Turtle design was an instant hit in our household as it’s my daughters favourite animal. The sandbox is light enough to move around and go from house to garden. The two front turtle legs act as seats and it comes with a lid to keep sand/balls contained and covered when not in use. It would be great as a messy play or sensory play tray too as the high sides would keep the mess safe inside. The perfect multi use toy and will be loved for years to come.

In the summer it’s a sand box or paddling pool and in the winter it’s perfect for snuggling up in as a little den, or popping some ball pit balls in for a home made ball pit. It’s a great size for little people, room for more than one to play in and can take up very little space if propped up when not in use. Wouldn’t be without one.
