I'm new to the cast iron world and the few items I have bought and received as gifts, I oil and put in the oven for an hour. When I used this item to make my cornbread, I really caked on the shortening to make sure it did not stick...they came out perfect! Best item ever. Ease of use: the preseason make the pan almost as non-stick as Teflon pan.
Easy to clean: It takes few more steps to clean and season the pan. But not too bad. you can google how to clean cast iron pan and there are a lot of good information on the internet.

I was very disappointed. I have other cast iron pans so I know they need to be properly seasoned. 1st time I used it, despite oiling it, the corn bread stuck and was a major job cleaning.
