Review Quotes

ECPA bestseller

"Becky Thompson is the real deal. In her book Love Unending, she does not write about lofty theories for building a marriage but rather practical tools that we all can use. I love her honest, down-to-earth style! She writes to those of you who are trying to rekindle the love with which you started your marriage as you're raising children. Even though I don't have young children in my home, I loved the twenty-one-day challenge! This book is for all of us who want to have a passionate, love-filled marriage!"
--Holly Wagner, pastor of Oasis Church, founder of She Rises, and author of Find Your Brave

"Love Unending is a wellspring of life for the weary mom who believes she doesn't have enough energy to keep passion alive in her marriage. This book is going to radically impact marriages everywhere!"
--Jennifer Smith, author of The Unveiled Wife and founder of UnveiledWife.com

"Too often and too easily I take my husband for granted, and inevitably our marriage suffers, which is why I'm so grateful for Becky's latest book, Love Unending. Her words of wisdom and grace equipped me with twenty-one daily (and doable!) ways to be intentional in loving my husband in light of how I have first been loved by God in Jesus Christ. I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the wonderful qualities in my husband that often go unnoticed. This book was a gift to our marriage."
--Jeannie Cunnion, author of Parenting the Wholehearted Child

"This book convicted, inspired, and challenged me and had me laughing, all at the same time! Becky beautifully walks us through the real-life issues of marriage that anyone can relate to, while offering a life raft to higher ground. As a wife and mom, I found the daily readings were just the right length for my schedule, and I can honestly say, if you take the time to do the daily challenges, your heart toward your husband and your marriage will be greatly impacted!"
--Jennifer Toledo, pastor of Expression 58 Church, president of the Justice Group, and author of Children and the Supernatural and Eyes That See and Ears That Hear

"When you are up to your eyeballs in diapers and dishes, in homework and housework, sometimes you forget to peer over the piles and notice that man you married--the one quietly standing there, blending unassumingly into the background. Love Unending will take you on a deliberate twenty-one-day stroll back down memory lane. There you'll discover anew the love you once felt for your husband loooooong before the first kiddo stepped onto your household terrain. This inspiring book--part memoir and part personal journal, tied neatly with a big bow of biblical encouragement--will guide you gently as you endeavor to become the believer, wife, and mother God desires you to be."
--Karen Ehman, Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker and New York Times best-selling author of Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All and Listen, Love, Repeat: Other-Centered Living in a Self-Centered World

"The most difficult thing about marriage is the people. When two sinful people enter into one holy covenant, it can be messy. Love Unending offers the reader prayerful steps to take toward her husband in a world that constantly pulls families apart. If you're looking for practical marriage encouragement, this is it!"
--Kristen Welch, best-selling author of Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled World

"The first time I met Becky, I knew her books would be as real and passionate as she is. She embodies these very qualities you see on the pages of Love Unending. As a mother and also a wife of thirty-six years to my precious husband, I have been challenged by this book to be more intentional about my relationship with my mate. The chapters on listening intently and touching purposefully caused me to dig deep and look at my intentions. Thank you, Becky, for this gift of love to the body of Christ."
--Cyndy Mooring, copastor of Celebration of Life Church, Baytown, Texas

"In Love Unending Becky answers the very real question so many women wrestle with: How do I balance motherhood and marriage well? With grace, humility, and hope, Becky uses very personal examples to guide us to the answer, which is, of course, always found in Christ. In this book we have the opportunity to learn how to fall in love all over again each new day, as each new day builds our forever."
--Lauren Casper, author of It's Okay About It

"If you are a busy mom struggling to keep your marriage a priority, this twenty-one-day journey is for you! With transparency and encouragement, Becky shares the struggles moms face to keep their marriages strong in the midst of motherhood and shows how making one simple decision can impact your marriage today."

It Changed My Marriage! A Must-Read!

Becky Thompson is one of my favourite authors. Her first book, Hope Unfolding, was beautifully written and easy to read, like I was sitting down to coffee with an old friend. Her latest book, Love Unending, is written in the same friendly voice, but is presented in a completely different format; it's designed as a 21 day challenge (with one chapter per day) to help us busy mommas rekindle the romance in our marriages. Each chapter introduces one practical step that we can take to enhance our relationship with our husbands, encouraging us to take that step over the course of the day. Then, at the end of the day, we can write and reflect about how things are going. I received an advanced reading copy of this book (in exchange for my honest review) and was eager to dive right into the challenge. With each passing day, I began to notice positive changes in my marriage and in our home. This will definitely be a book I'll read over and over again because it's a great reminder to be intentional with my husband in the midst of life's busyness. Regardless of whether your marriage is struggling or is better than it's ever been, I would encourage you to read this book. Becky's honesty about her own marriage and the practical advice that she offers have already made a lasting impact on hearts, lives and marriages everywhere.

What a blessing for every woman who wants to remember why they fell in love with their husband! Becky does a wonderful job of pointing our hearts and our minds back towards our husbands while keeping God in the center. It's easy to let our marriage take a backseat to kids, but this is a wonderful way to take back our marriages and make them a priority in our lives! I would recommend this to any wife/mama!

Not just for marriages that need help

To be honest, I did not really think I “needed” this book before I began reading it. Sure, sometimes my relationship with my husband feels more like roommate status when life gets busy and the kids are going crazy, but we have always gotten along well and seen eye to eye on most issues. However, I am a huge fan of the author’s writing and truly believe in the power of her message, so I eagerly read Love Unending and committed to the challenges anyway. The journal prompts caused me to reflect on how much I, and my relationship with my husband, have changed over the years, and the result was eye-opening. I realized the importance of showing my husband that I value him for the amazing person he is, and not for the help he can provide to me. This book provides practical, concrete steps to intentionally live out your love for your spouse, in quick and fun-to-read daily chapters. It is not just for parents of young kids, or older kids, or marriages in trouble. Some of the principles discussed in this book are universal to many relationships and I found many of them carry over into my interactions with my children.

Becky Thompson has done it again! After reading her first book, Hope Unfolding, I felt like I had just had a conversation with a friend who had known me forever. Once I finished Love Unending, it seemed like my friend had come back and given me the most practical advice to keep my marriage alive and thriving. She addresses small changes that you-as the wife-can implement to readjust your perspective on your marriage and these steps bring you back to a place of fresh, new love for your spouse. I will read this book again and again. My husband and I are in the best place in our marriage that we've ever been and I know that reading this book has helped me remember to love him the way I did when I first fell in love with him--so very thankful for this gem of a book.

Finally - a practical, funny, and real marriage book written just for moms! I loved it. It was not too much to read each day (because really, we're moms and we don't have a lot of time for reading) and the challenges were practical and effective! I was skeptical that after 14 years, we could really "go back to the beginning", but this book really does do that! Definitely worth reading!

My marriage of ten years had taken a significant downward turn after the births of my 3 little blessings. I knew I should give my husband more (more time, more attention, more affection) but I honestly didn’t know how. I started a journey to “fix” things about 4 years ago with little progress. 21 days…that’s it…21 days through the Love Unending challenge and we’ve seen more progress than in the last 4 years of trying. And by trying, I mean marriage seminars, weekends away, pray for your spouse books, other books that offered daily challenges…nothing worked! You might ask…what’s different about this one?! God placed on my heart about 6 months ago a command to “Love him” (him being my husband) and I STRUGGLED for months. Over and over I’d hear God and I’d think I KNOW but HOW?!? I seriously did not know how to love my husband well. Becky’s book and her grace-filled truths taught me how to love my husband again. This 21-day challenge was hard but it was totally doable and I’m so glad I stuck with it. Through daily journal, prayer, Becky’s amazing stories, and God’s heart whispers, I was take back to the beginning of our relationship so I could remember the foundations of our love. I realized what an amazing man God has provided for me and I began to treat him as such! I found ways to reconnect with my husband. This journey changed MY heart in so many ways…and I knew that was the key all along, I just didn’t know HOW. I first did the challenge 3 months ago and I marvel at where my relationship is with my husband now. This book has helped me to refocus on my marriage while still balancing my role as “mommy.” I never thought I would feel like I was succeeding at both, but Love Unending has shown me that when I focus on making my marriage a priority, the “momma” role actually gets easier too!

A must read for all mommas! This book was a game changer for my marriage. It opened up lines of communication and a new outlook that I didn't even know I needed. It helped me to go back to how I felt before I had kids and take stock of just how much had changed. I consider my marriage strong, but it's even better now that we have done this book and invested in ourselves again. Great perspective check and amazing how much can change, just by investing a little time and shifting perspectives! Becky has a way of writing that speaks directly to your heart, but feels like having a conversation with a close friend over coffee. It's an easy read and well worth your time!

After a difficult pregnancy and with a toddler and brand new baby at home, my husband's job layoff my husband and I were disconnected to say the least. I felt it would take a miracle to get us back on track, the task felt so daunting! That miracle came with Thompson's book, Love Unending - a practical 21 day, prayer-filled challenge for wives. There are other books like this, as well, but this one was different - it catered to the mama's heart, addressed issues that are specific to marriage with kids and babies. What a SUCCESS! It saved us before things continued on a downward spiral. Thank you, Becky, for your wonderful work! I will continue doing these challenges until the end of my days and will recommend this book to every mother and wife I know!

I walked right up to my husband, wrapped my arms around his neck, gave him a kiss, and then pulled him in to a warm hug. "What was that for?" He asked, smiling. "I just realized I have the marriage of my dreams, that's all." This is what has culminated after 15 days of reading Becky Thompson of @scissortail silk's new book-- "Love Unending: Rediscovering your marriage in the midst of motherhood." Don't get me wrong. We weren't in marriage turmoil or crisis before. Neither of us would have said we were unhappy. But we were living more like really friendly roommates than two people deep in love and sharing a covenant with each other and God. Somewhere between the bills and the spills we had become routinely unromantic. Kids will do that to you. ❤️ This book was a practical, biblical, and thought provoking reminder of how precious marriage is and where to start rebuilding when it gets off track. I have a hunch this could not only improve complacent relationships, but also resurrect desperate ones. I highly recommend it.

Love Unending was just the book I was looking for to help me refocus. I became a mom six months ago. It has been the most rewarding yet difficult and challenging jobs I have had. In addition to mom, I also juggle the hat of a teacher. Working full time, raising our son and trying to be the best wife I can be is hard. But Becky’s book gives practical ways to help keep my marriage a priority in the midst of the every day craziness. During the 21 day challenge, each day you read a story from her life, are given a new challenge to strengthen your relationship with your husband, have time for predicting how your husband will react and then a reflection time. Each chapter is manageable to read in a short amount of time. I hope you find the book as helpful as I have! I can’t wait to reread it.

Life changing book! This book and the concept of making those little changes within yourself took my marriage down a road that I didn't know it could, in a good way. There were some days that were easier than others, but even the more challenging days were things I've NEEDED to look at with how I react to things between my husband and I. I read this book and kept in contact with other women who were also doing the challenge and it was great to hold each other accountable. I could not recommend this book enough!!! Every time hear of a wife complaining about how much their marriage has struggled since they've had kids, I recommend this book! I've heard from others that said even though THEY were the ones changing their perspective, their husbands started to change too. This book WILL change lives and families. Honestly, I can't wait to do the challenge again with a group from my church!

Love Unending by Becky Thompson is a phenomenal book! Even if you feel your marriage is doing great, I think there is always room for more love and improvement. To be honest, I am not a reader but I love the short applicable chapters that I can so easily relate to and that truly engage me. I love the scripture passages & daily challenges that are tied into each chapter and how we can apply them to our daily lives & marriages. It has been so neat to see what transformations have taken place in our marriage & I look forward to seeing what God has in store for our future!

I didn't read this book because my marriage was in jeopardy. The reason I read this book was because I wanted to invest in my relationship with my husband. My pastor often says when talking about marriage that the grass isn't greener on the other side- it is greener where you water it. So true! With two kids now, I have found myself investing a lot of my time and energy into them but not as much in my husband. And, to be honest when the kids go to college I don't want us to be strangers. Through this book I was able to reposition my heart and my attitude in my daily interactions with my husband so that we can face life like we did when we first met, full of love and excitement. No matter where your marriage is, you should read this book.
