  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about LoveShackFancy x Target – Case-Mate Blooming Heirloom No. AirPods (2nd generation) will not properly fit or work in an AirPods (3rd generation) charging case. The 2nd gen and 3rd gen AirPods have different shapes, and their charging cases are designed specifically for their matching earbuds. Apple sells separate replacement cases for AirPods 1st/2nd generation and for AirPods 3rd generation, reflecting that they are not interchangeable. So glad this drop coincided with the purchase of my new AirPods. It couldn’t be more perfect. It even has a small adhesive strip in the top to keep it from falling off, although I think it is snug enough to not fall off.
