Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, other people and our own bodies. Overall, this laundry sanitizer works well and as expected. However, it is *NOT SAFE* for all colors - specifically washcloths. I have not noticed any discoloration or bleaching on anything except for washcloths. As in the picture attached, it appears that the sanitizer will react with the remnants of body soap and this causes a bleaching action. These are not cheap washcloths, and are somewhat new, so I was disappointed that this happened. The matching towels have not been affected at all. Recommended, with this one caveat.

But after just one load, I kind of got it. I used it on a batch of towels and some workout clothes, and everything came out smelling fresh without being overly scented, just clean in a way that felt…more thorough? What I really liked is that it doesn’t replace your detergent—you just add it in, and it works behind the scenes to kill the germs detergent alone doesn’t get. With kids in the house and lots of sweaty clothes and mystery stains, it’s actually kind of comforting to know there’s an extra layer of clean happening. Long story short, that little sample totally won me over—and now I’m hooked. If you’re on the fence… go for it!

I don’t really know how to verify it is working; that’s the only drawback. It’s clear and unscented if that’s something that’s important to you. My laundry didn’t feel different or smell different, but I felt better about it having used this product.

It gets that smell when your dog lays on the blanket, it gets that smell right off when your clothes have been sitting way too long in a closet and it’s especially nice when your kid has a blowout and you know that your clothes are sanitized.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love Lysol products, I gave this 4 stars only because it has to be added during the rinse cycle and I don’t have the attention span to be listening for that!! However to try it out I did wait and apply during rinse cycle. Definitely sanitized better used as directed rather than throwing in with the washing powder. Unfortunately because of the rinse cycle addition I don’t see myself using very often.
