Q: How many tea bags are in this?

A: I don't see anywhere where it says 40 tea bags.. all I see is 4.4oz, but a box of 16 Yogi tea bags is 1.27oz, so like 0.08oz per bag. So 4.4oz divided by 0.08 per bag would be 55 tea bags so maybe 40 is a decent guess.

Q: How do you open the tin without bending and denting it? I can't get the top off.

A: The roof is attached. That's not the opening. Open the tin by pulling the bottom lid. That lid is fastened by two strips of clear adhesive tape on the shorter side of the house.

A: It took me a minute to figure it out too! The bottom pops out. I noticed some tape on both sides so make sure you remove that if yours has it.

A: There's a switch at the bottom to light it up. Pull the bottom cover to remove the contents.

So pleased with this adorable tin. The tea is fine, and I'll use it up, but it's not a tea I'd seek out to purchase going forward. I just really wanted the tin TBH. It lights up from a battery tea light. The battery is not replaceable, but it's easy to add your own battery tea light once the included battery dies. There is a screw on the bottom of the tin & you can remove it. I used the Wondershop twinkle lights on a timer & it looks so cute & festive.

I bought all of the lighted M&S options this year and have tried replacing the batteries in each of them, and thankfully this one seems to have a longer lasting battery than the others because it appears to be almost impossible to replace it. They're all difficult but this one is especially hard. Honestly I haven't yet tried the tea.

I just got this at looks exactly like the picture but it’s a little tricky to open - you need to remove the bottom. The switch for the light is a little hard to manipulate, otherwise it’s great

Love this cute little tin. I thought it would be a tin that lights up AND stores the tea but it does not hold any tea. You have to take the tea out and store elsewhere for the light to reach all of the house windows. Still giving 5 stars for being so cute.

The 2024 version do not have any labeling on the tin as to how many tea bags you are buying. Just a 4.4 oz wt label leading buyers to think it might be sold as loose tea leaves by weight. However, the bottom of the tin does say they are "Traditional Gold Tea Bags...", just not how many. There are indeed 40 bags inside, packaged inside a gold foil bag. The bag is labeled with the qty of tea bags and the best use by date. The "lights" is really just ONE light, housed in a faux candle glued to the bottom lid of the tin. If you turned on the light without ever opening the tin and taking out the gold bag, the bag will block the candle light from the rest of the holes on top of the tin roof. This might lead one to think that some lights are not working. If this year's tea bags are like what it was last year, then they will be excellent again! Unfortunately, I have not brewed a cup yet.
