Machine Washable Waterproof Quilted Mattress Pad - Made By Design™

A: I went to Oeko-Tex website and searched Ultra Fresh (Ultra Fresh's website did not give a lot to go off of). Since this product is Oeko-Tex cetified so it stand to reason Ultra-Fesh would also be a Oeko-Tex certified product. Oeko-Tex listed 5 Ultra Fresh products as Oeko-Tex Certified: Ultra-Fresh BC-100, Ultra-Fresh CA-16 , Ultra-Fresh DW-30, Ultra-Fresh DW-56, and Ultra-Fresh KW-48. After looking up the active ingrediants of all these products none of them used triclosan. Of the products whose uses included Fabric Treatment these were listed as the active ingredients: Ultra-Fresh DW-56 -Zinc Omadine (Zinc, 2-pyridinethiol-l-oxide) and Thiabendazole (2-(4-Thiazolyl)-1H-benzimidazole) Ultra-Fresh CA-16- Metallic silver and Ultra-Fresh KW-48-Zinc pyrithione, Zinc, 2-pyridinethiol-l-oxide. I am unfortunately uncertain of which application this mattress pad uses. Sources for active ingrediants were pulled from the EPA Registration numbers for the products and from PAN Pesticide Database. TLDNR: Ultra Fresh does not contain triclosan Hope this helps!

A: Hello Levmarc! Sorry to hear you did not like the product. There is no vinyl we use a laminated to the interior that prices a waterproof barrier. The Ultra Fresh treatment does not have triclosan. Target is very good about insuring it's suppliers do not use it. Okeo Tex certifications certifies at all levels of production end product is free of harmful materials. Both Sctochgard and Ultra Fresh meet those criteria.

A: Hi- there is no vinyl, but if you are looking to avoid chemicals, this isn't a good option. I bought two and was dismayed to see they are treated with both Scotchguard and an anti-microbial called Ultra-Fresh (which doesn't specify if they used triclosan or not). I returned both.

Top loading machines tend to have lower capacity and some have agitators. If you top loading machine has no agitator and the pad is not too cramped, you can use top load machine. A: I would not recommend a waterproof Mattress Pad if you husband is a hot sleeper. Due to water protection features it may cause him to be more hot. I suggest a regular Mattress mad with a cotton cover such as the Made By Design Comfort Mattress Pad.
