The magic of augmented of reality doesn’t just mean you’ll see your course and opponents come alive on screen. Hit a boost in the game? Watch as your real-life Mario Kart speeds up. Get hit by a Green Shell? Look out, because your kart will slow down! If you’re worried about straying too far from the course (or your living room), Smart Steering will help guide you along.
The races you progress through in Grand Prix mode are varied—the windy environment might push your kart to the side, while the in-game Piranha Plant gate will bite you if you pass through the wrong side. As you play, you’ll unlock more speed settings, costumes, environments and more! These can all be used when you want to create your custom course. Even Rainbow Road makes an appearance!

A: Yes, one kart per package controlled by one person on one switch. So if you want to play with 3 more friends, you will need 4 packages of these karts, and 4 nintendo switches

A: You need to keep the car so you can play it at all. But you and your friend can take turns if you dont have a extra switch or an extra Mario/Luigi car

Q: Can you play this on tile or outdoors on the driveway? We only have tile and carpet flooring ( no wood).

A: You can but the sun will make it hard to see and yes you can but the car tires will wear out faster than playing inside. And yes you can play on tile flooring, carpet, and wood flooring.

I think the idea of it is fun, but I wish the lap markers and other items weren’t made out of cardboard. With kids playing it and using them, cardboard won’t last. The cardboard needs an upgrade.

Best purchase ever! My kids loved this! It’s like regular MarioKart, where the more you race, the more you unlock. It takes it a couple tries to read the QR code, but once it was scanned, it works no problem.

There is people saying they don’t like it. I think it’s aimed for younger kids my brother (8 years old) loved it for Christmas he didn’t even ask for it and now he won’t let it go. It does suck that it’s cardboard pieces but I mean what can we do. Anyways definitely recommend for younger kids!

Not sure what the 2-star reviewer was complaining about. Please do your research before buying! This game is awesome! Yes, it comes with one kart. You need one kart per player (up to 4 total) and one Switch per person for (local only) multiplayer. Right now there are only 2 different characters/sets - Mario or Luigi. I'm sure they will be adding more characters and karts in the future. You'll need a reasonable area in which to set up the physical course. If you consider all of that in advance, you'll know exactly if this is for you or not. Personally, this is like a dream come true for any Mario Kart fan! It really is the most immersive karting game/racing experience ever. It uses a combination of AR (augmented reality) and a real, physical RC car to make it look and feel like you're really in the game because you basically are! There are different "themes" and items that you can customize each race with, along with fun costumes to unlock for your racer. As for the tracks themselves, the possibilities are literally endless and only limited by your own imagination and creativity! You can make almost any layout you want within your own environment, and setting up or tearing down can be as easy as just setting up the checkpoint gates or putting them away. Adding extra stuff alongside the track or even small obstacles on your courses makes it extra interesting and fun. Battery life is good with lower speeds lasting longer than the faster levels, so you can have hours of casual racing or a bit less but with karts zooming and zipping around every turn. Honestly, the replayability here is one of the biggest benefits because you'll always be making new and interesting courses to race on. They do have computer opponents you can race against, and there are additional modes like time trials and even a free roam mode where you can just drive around your house and scare people and pets (lol). Overall, this is a uniquely fresh and exciting interactive experience that will keep you and your kids entertained for a very long time. I imagine this will be one of the hottest toys this holiday, so don't hesitate!

Amazing! Do read all the descriptions and requirements so you know what you are getting... you will not get 2 in a single box.. and of course you have to take turns if you only buy one... and you DO need 2 Nintendo Swtich if you want to play with 2 cars at the same time..

Would like to mention if your kid have siblings you need one set and one switch per kid, otherwise it will be one person game and they have to take turns. Set only includes one car, doesn’t come with a physical game so you have to download the digital version. Also you will need a large space, I’m playing at condo and it is a challenge so I would recommend more for a large house. Race itself is more exciting with regular Mario kart since your room is your limit. With that said, it is an amazing technology, maybe it will make a nice Christmas gift this year. Making a course with own toys at home is the best part.
