Such an awesome addition to our smoker. We cook primarily by the smoker and we decided to add the Rotisserie Spinner and every meet we have cooked on it so far just comes out extra juicy and tender instead of it just sitting on the racks. Love it!!

The rotisserie can't handle a Turkey even though it says it will. It won't turn a 15lb Turkey.

Do a quick Google search. The unit fails due to a design flaw. MB has known for years and still doesn't address the flaw.

Thanksgiving Fail

I got the kit specifically to use on Thanksgiving. I hooked the kit up and tried it out. It seemed to be working fine. I then prepped the 8.5 pound turkey, made sure it was balanced on the bar, and turned on the motor. That's where things went wrong. 8.5 pounds was apparently well above the motor's capacity. It would turn the turkey 1/4 turn and then fail. It would try the opposite direction and fail again. After trying various methods to get it to turn, I finally gave up, put the turkey in a pan, and smoked it without the rotisserie kit. I'll try the kit with other meats and birds, but I was super disappointed about it's inability to turn an 8.5 pound turkey. Weak.

Unusable out of the box because the fittings are too tight. You have to go to youtube and find some videos on how to file down some of the fittings to get it to work, otherwise it won't rotate. You shouldn't have to do this with a brand new OEM product.

Works Great once you fix the defect

My wife got this for me as we love Rotisserie Chicken. It assembles quickly, however it has a Factory Default. The adaptor (#3 in the instructions) expands with the Neck Flange (#4) causing it to seize up. This makes for some very one-sided chicken. It is easy to fix if you have a Dremel Tool or something similar. You will have to grind the shaft of the adaptor and inside the Neck Flange and a little bit of the face of the adaptor where the Spit Rod goes in. I also, just for an added bonus, put a little Crisco on the the two to act as a lubricant which seems to work quite well. And yes I tried that first before grinding. Over all I really like the kit and feel that it's a worthwhile investment. Just wish they would fix that part and I could give them 5 stars.

Overall seems like a nice kit but the sleeve that goes through the smokers lid and attaches to the rotisserie motor has imperfections on the inside causing the motor to bind up and not turn I did notice this until after I tried using it for the first time. I was able to find the burs and file them down so that it spins freely. Hopefully It didn't stain the motor too much to make it fail prematurely.

My family bought me the Gravity Series 560 for Father’s Day along with this rotisserie. A month late, I just finally pulled it out of the box, installed it to cook a couple chickens, and like many here have said it would not make a full rotation. I assumed maybe the load was unbalanced so I adjusted the chickens and when I tried to turn it back on it would not turn at all. To recap, within five minutes of being used for the FIRST TIME EVER, this rotisserie is dead... I see there are many similar comments so it is clear that the manufacturer is aware of the issue but continues to sell the equipment. As I stated in the title, do not buy this, you will be very disappointed.

This is great for doing grilling. My Spit holder had a burr and therefore caused it to not spin properly. I notified customer service and they are sending another one out. The wrench tool that is provided can be a little difficult.

Possible Rework Required

The rotisserie is great but required some rework out of the box hence the 4 stars. The weld seam on the metal piece that spins the shaft was binding inside of the screw that secures the motor to the grill. After some filing down, it rotated the 6 lb chicken I was grilling just fine.

Poorly designed and not efforts to improve. There are old videos on Youtube telling Masterbuilt exactly what the fix was yet they still sell a product that doesn't work. The same thing as many other reviews. It stops working after an hour only turning 90 degrees. Is someone asleep at Masterbuilt or do they not care at all?

Absolutely horrible experience! This device malfunctioned right out of the box…could not get it to do a complete a full rotation. Would rotate 90° in one direction then reverse 90° in the other direction. Very disappointed!

Claims it will do 20 lbs. I had an 2 8 lb chickens on it and it wouldn’t go all the way around. Took one off. Still won’t spin 1 8lb bird.
