Q: How many milligrams of sodium are in 1 TBSP.? I cook for someone on a low sodium diet. Thank You.

A: I don't have the milligrams in front of me, but it is IS pretty salty. However, McCormick's does make a "reduced sodium" version of this seasoning. Its harder to find, but I do buy it whenever I find it. It still tastes great, but just less sodium. If I can find the actual milligrams, I'll post it here.

This Christmas, I wanted to make a Savory Appetizer and reached for the Montreal Steak Seasoning (about + 2 tsp) to put on 2 cups of Pecans tossed with real butter. Baked at 300 for 25 minutes and cooled.... oooh so good and easy!

I have heard great things about this seasoning and my husband bought it but sesame is not on the allergen warning list and I need to confirm that there is no SESAME in the product. Can someone confirm? Otherwise I cannot use it. :( Thanks

Use as a rub, throw in a can of beer. Let marinate an hour. Discard liquid and throw steaks on a grill. So good.

This product gets great ratings, so I won't boost it up about "how great it is" let's focus on price, convenience & improvement. It's really the convenience that makes it a high rating. It definitely adds taste to everything. THEN BOO, halfway through the large mix my special mealtimes get ruined, with weird "hulls" in the food. This really is an expensive product for what it is, (dried black peppercorn, onion, garlic, peppers too hot' at times, sugar, paprika, salt) for the price can't we expect no more hulls please? To explain what they call hulls = sharp hard little pieces that resemble baby toenails D=

We use it on tuna steaks. I'm not a big fish lover but I know how good fish (especially tuna and salmon) is for one's health. So we sprinkle a little of the low sodium Montreal Steak Seasoning on ahi tuna steaks, pop them on the grill and voila...fish steaks that can almost pass as beef steaks. Even I like them.

Hi, I've never used this seasoning before till my besty from Totornto sent me a pack and STRICTLY advised to use it on grilled steak. So I did, and ... it made a wonderful taste and FLAVOR, completely different from what I had for many years (for information I've used many types of dry rub ranged from Asian, European, American, even African origin). It did not ruin the special flavor of the beef. Only due to my partial abstinence from consuming salt, It appeared too salty for me. SO TNX
