Opened up a new bottle this evening. Made cookies and they are horrible. Narrowed it down to the extract! It tastes like straight alcohol and it's making our family sick.
Lid wouldn't come off.

I couldn't get the lid off to remove the seal. After finding a YouTube video about this problem I used a water pump pliers to take off the lid. This happened with two separate spices, nutmeg and caraway. You guys should start selling water pump pliers, it could be a new income stream. Even so, the spices themselves are good.

I usually get my vanilla from Mexico, but ran out and needed more, so I purchased a bottle of McCormick. YUCK YUCK YUCK. It doesn't smell delicious, looks watered down and really has no flavor.

I just bought a brand new nutmeg and I popped the top and I see the holes but I can't undo the lid to takeoff the security wrap….. it's like it's been glued on with cement 🤷🏼♀️

Our favorite vanilla for baking and various drinks. The vanilla flavor is rich and does not taste diluted like so many other brands. It smells soooo nice. We use it for cakes, cookies, brownies, frosting, etc.

McCormick has changed their extract and bottle to the detriment of the product. Extract recipe smells overwhelmingly of alcohol, and is unable to be dispensed from the bottle without spilling every drop of liquid down the side. Please find another brand!

What kind of alcohol is in the pure vanilla? I am very allergic to rum. I love the vanilla in ice cream but am very concerned due to reactions.

Bring back the pouring spout!

I love the vanilla, but you REALLY need to bring back the flip-top with the pouring spout. So tired of the mess and the waste when trying to pour out a small amount - half of it goes down the side of the bottle. Given the price of vanilla, that is unacceptable. 😡
McCormick is the best vanilla

I have been a loyal McCormick customer for 40+ years. McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract has been a key ingredient in many of my Christmas cookie recipes. Every year I have purchased a new bottle a couple weeks before I began my Christmas baking. While I was preparing my first batch this year I was excited to open my new bottle of Vanilla to find it not to be what I expected. It appeared to be watered down, lacked the bold color and most importantly lacked flavor and aroma. Needless to say my cookies did not taste the same. I went and bought another bottle hoping the first bottle was a quality mistake and was disappointed again. If you have changed the manufacturing of your product then I am sad to say you have lost a customer.

I love this brand and it’s taste delicious but way too overly priced for a small bottle. I know everything has gone up but still

Yummy, I added nearly 3 teaspoons to my almond milk (1 cup) with stevita stevia,(1/2 tsp or more) and was delicious. Looking forward to trying with rum extract and other flavors. Homemade Eggnog w/almond milk and rum extract is next!

Hello;
I grew up using McCormick's pure vanilla extract and have always been satisfied until now. I emptied a current bottle and opened a new one to immediately see that the color was weaker and the scent was off. It smelled more like watered down alcohol. Please don't tell me that the vanilla scent intensifies as it ages, because I've long loved opening a fresh bottle and enjoying the rich vanilla flavor. I'm not sure where you're getting the information that I'm reading on other 1-star recent reviews with the same complaints that the flavor will intensify as it ages. It's not there now, and it always has been before. Also, it is difficult to pour small amounts from the bottles now that the company has eliminated pour spout lids. A sad day in my baking world!

Why did you change it?

Why have you changed the ingredients? Now there is water added. There is hardly any vanilla aroma, the cookies I made tasted like I didn't add any vanilla extract at all. It's all alcohol. Not worth the money. I'll gladly pay more for a high quality vanilla, in fact, the bottle of IMITATION vanilla I had on hand that was a year old made a better batch of cookies. Thanks for nothing.
