Nothing like the 80's version

Why is Mead making these when they are completely subpar? Everyone wants the 80's version, so give the people what they want. This is cheaply made (so flimsy and thin plastic covering) and has metal rings, not plastic. It also comes bare...what happened to including 3 folders? And it has no clip/pen...see moreof the reviewer's review

I bought this for my son who enjoys drawing and writing but tended to leave his papers loose and disorganized in his bag. I remembered how much I loved my trapper keeper growing up and was pleased to know they are still around. The closure is magnetic now - which I had my doubts about, but he has no...see moreof the reviewer's review

Best part of trapper keepers was the satisfying rip of the velcro. These new ones got a dinky little magnet.see moreof the reviewer's review

I've always loved trapper keepers, and I had one myself as a child. I am disappointed in the function of the closure, it is very loose and it not nearly as secure as the velcro kind. The magnet does not stay tightly secured, they should go back to the velcro which worked great.see moreof the reviewer's review

Good basic binder but...

This is a good basic binder but I miss some of the features that the old trapper keepers had. Like the ability to clip a pad of paper to the back and the built in folders on the front and back covers. Please consider going back to the old 80's design and maybe add a magnetic closure (as opposed to t...see moreof the reviewer's review

Not Quite The Same Thing

If you're looking for the Trapper Keeper from the 80s, this is it in spirit ... but not the real thing. The velcro is gone (probably a smart move), but the paper pad in the back is gone, the plastic open-and-close folder spirals are now basic metal and you need to buy folders separately. Even if you...see moreof the reviewer's review
