Just bought this. It's really cool looking. Pages are easy to turn and the rings do open. You can swap them out for bigger ones to add more stuff. Dont know why all the negative reviews. Pages do need to be reinforced but other than that it's cool. Dont expect the folders inside to last if you give it a lot of wear and tear. They appear to be kinda flimsy but you can probably make your own.

Good Idea

I love the style of the item and how it has the different types of paper as well as the rings so you can move things around as you want, however it is not very practical for use while actually traveling. The pages (excluding the plain paper which is thicker) rip very easily, with almost every single turn of a page. I ended up buying reinforcements to keep them from doing so but this adds thickness to the pages that makes it hard to turn because of the size of the rings. Overall, it has a lot of good features that I look for in a travel journal (a major one being the number of pockets) but definitely does not seem executed well. I'm going to continue using it but will probably not buy another one in the future.

I love the book and the concept and that it has different style paper and folders. However, every single page rips out of the book and I tried taping the holes on the page and even the taped pages ripped out.

i love the idea of this journal. i'm a nerd, i play dungeons & dragons, i thought, this would be an awesome notebook to use that would look like the actual journal my character might carry around. sort of? whatever. point is, with its small size, sort of rustic design, lined paper, blank paper, and grid paper, and pockets, it's perfect for d&d. i ripped out some of the more anachronistic stuff and it was fine until i started to use it... the issue is that the pages are flimsy as HECK. what i ended up doing is getting some of those hole reinforcer stickers and adding them to every single page. we'll see if that holds up better - i don't have much hope.

Target - please stop selling this product. I bought two of these journals for my kids because we were going on an extended trip. While the journals have cool components (esp for my kids who love graph paper) they were unusable. The papers rip out at the slightest touch and the rings are impossibly hard to open and close. I had to reinforce every page of the journal that they wanted to keep.
