Medela Contact™ Nipple Shield can be an effective tool for professionals and moms to temporarily assist with infants with latch-on problems, as well as for moms with overactive let-downs or for flat, inverted and sore nipples. Medela Contact Nipple Shield enables continued breastfeeding without interruption until these problems are resolved. Use under the guidance of a healthcare professional. Available in different sizes (16 mm, 20 mm, 24 mm). Nipple shield sizing will depend on the size of the infant’s mouth. The use of nipple shields should be discontinued once problems are resolved.

My son had problems latching and I used the shield to help him. It works wonders!!My lactation consultant gave me a hard time about it, she said that it could affect my milk supply, that my baby wouldn't have enough to eat, blablabla. When I was in the hospital my baby was having latching problems and the lactation nurse gave me shields to try. I honestly dont think I would have made it through the first week without this! My child is 2 months and I still use them. I have tried the advent shields and prefer thesesee moreof the reviewer's review

couldn't BF with out it

The hospital introduced this to me because it hurt so bad to BF my newborn. Well after attempting to try with out it, I gave it and only BF with it... Forget about getting those bloody scabs and etc... the only complaint I have is washing them.:) Wish they would sell these in a pack of like 12

If you’re having a hard time with the latch or having pain definitely try this shield. There might be some negative opinions out there about using shields but don’t listen. For those who really want to breastfeed this is for you moms. My baby was laching perfectly fine but than the nurse gave him a bottle and oh boy it changed the game on me.
