21 vs 24 the difference is the inner rims as the 21 has thicker plastic on the “tunnel “ area ( they look like the same if you comparing on the outside. )I am not sure if it will make any difference to my future pumping experience as 21 is still too large for me. I will tell in 3 months or so.

It’s a waste of money. There’s no difference in size from the 24mm and 21mm. Plus for some reason it leaks milk.

21mm Broke my connector when assembling

Don’t buy, go with the Flex Breastshield. I have the Medela Pump in Style Max Flow and ordered these in 21 mm for an extra flange set. These are more difficult to get on compared to my 24 mm that came with the pump. The description states they work with all Medela pumps, but when I tried pushing it onto the $30 connector while assembling, it broke the connector.

Along with the other 1000s of mothers asking Medela why they don’t make smaller breast shields (phalanges) I am one of them. I will add that you are supposed to have about 6 mm on each side of areola that gets sucked into the tube. Just keep that in mind. We’re all struggling with the fact that Medela seems to think all woman have nipples only in 21-32 mm range???

Nothing special, just a flange. But apparently i have tiny nipples because this 21mm is still too big. The difference between the standard 24 n 21 isnt very noticeable at all. Super.....i spent money on an item i cant return. Now what!?

As many others have said, the tunnel is insanely short. I'm not sure why Medela thinks that a smaller diameter means the tunnel should also be shorter. I can't be too upset that 21mm is still too big for me (which also seems to be a common trend) because it is as advertised, but I am still disappointed they don't make a smaller size that is clearly needed.

The amount of money i have spent to still sit back and find that expressing isn't how it should be. We need smaller breast shields yet it still hasn't happened. Not only are you letting down mothers your letting down our partners who would like to feed our babies! Just disappointing i am l looking into another brand to help me.

I'm going to add to all the people saying you need to make smaller sizes. Upon purchasing the 21 mm (which did not come with the original pump, so thank you for eating my money), I found that my areola was STILL pulled into the shaft of the breast shield, and the part that was pulled in of my right nipple turned white--not good. Um, some of these reviews were made quite a while ago. How long does it take to make a breast shield with a smaller diameter? I will be purchasing a different brand of pump with my next child if this issue is not addressed.

Bruised my nipple. I have literally all sizes of guards and have had no success pumping. My son is gaining weight exclusively breastfeeding, thank God. The larger shields won’t pull milk and then every other smaller size just leaves me sore, bruised and hurting.

I have been using the 30mm with the medela freestyle connectors and they fit fine, but this is not the case when I got the 36mm. It is not compatible with the same connectors! Did I get a defective product ?

My areola stillgets sucked into there a lot, and can make pumping uncomfortable. Well made and gets the jib done, I'd just love to see medela come out with a smaller option. It doesnt seem like this is almost any different in sizing from the 24mm shields

This is the best fitting breast shield for my size, but I wish there was a smaller one. It still gets milk everywhere and takes in a lot of the breast rather than just the nipple... but it’s much more comfortable than the other sizes offered.

I was super excited to start pumping I bought extra parts including this breast shield. I bought it in a 21 because one breast is a 21 and the other is a 24 and I have a ton of 24. I cleaned the parts and started pumping and let me tell you my breast hurts so bad from this breast shield. It sucks I spent the money I did to not be able to use them. But they are very nice I will. Say just didn’t fit right and they hurt.
