Perfect size for my 2 year old to cut soft foods on his own. I thought he could use them to play if they didn't work out, but so far so good.

Basic toys are best

My granddaughter always searched through the toy dish bin at Grandma's House to find the metal forks and spoons left from a long ago dish set. She played with the plastic ones, but seemed to prefer the metal. We bought her this set for her second birthday. They make a satisfying "ding" when she plays with her metal tea set and metal pots and pans. Two year olds like noise, as well as pretend cooking! This set may be around for the next generation, as it seems sturdy, unless too many pieces go to the world of lost toys!
